Dear Sir / Madam

My name is Dongkun Kim. I've got master in Electronic Engineering (esp. communication systems) and complete the course of Ph.D of same field at So-gang University in Korea.
I've analyzed and researched the performance of conventional and next generation telecommunication systems. I've optimized the capacity/coverage of communication networks. And I’ve developed new schemes, applications and overall system structures. To evaluate the performance, I've developed many kinds of link/system level simulators using C, C++, MATLAB. For the exact performance evaluation, many realistic factors (propagation model (pathloss, shadowing, fading), traffic model, antenna pattern, cell deployment/optimization, RRM(scheduling, channel allocation etc), user movement) are reflected to these simulators. To run these large simulators, I’ve learned and used UNIX a little. So, I can remember and learn fast if I have a short train again. I’ve studied many kinds of standards such as IEEE802.11/16, 3GPP, 3GPP2, ITU etc. I have many experience to learn new skills and works, thus, I can easily adapt new technologies.
I've also made many documents and academic papers using MS word, Power point, Visio, Excel, to explain and persuade the results. As a commercial experience, I've performed and managed many developments and analysis projects with large enterprise such as Samsung Electronics and Samsung Institute of Advanced Technology (SAIT) in Korea for 4 years during the period of my academic degree. Even though I don’t have commercial experiences in companies, I have lots of project experiences in my lab during my degree. And those works are almost same as the works done in commercial companies.

Furthermore, I have some experiences of test and experiment in simple communication networks using testing tools such as analog/digital oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, signal generator, vector signal analyzer and lab volt communication set etc. And I’ve designed and evaluated the up/downloading performance using networking tools like Chariot program as a small assignment. I’ve made several actual circuits such as security circuits (motion detector), small road lamp as a term project when I was a university student.
On the other hand, I have lots of experiences as a team leader and manager shown as the work experiences in my CV. Thus, I know the importance of teamwork and the relationship among team members. I’ve performed my job deciding the directions of researches/developments, adjusting schedules and managing our/other team members as a leader. And even though there were some difficulties and problems in my previous works, I think the goals have been successfully achieved in my job.

Because my wife is a citizen of NZ, I could come to have a tour and I loved New Zealand so much and wanted to live here. I postponed getting my Ph.D Degree and wanted to work here. I've written some papers and managed my parents' properties since I have come. Now, I'm trying to find work here in similar field that I have done and your company is the best one I want to work at.

I can work with no salary for several months, because I think the most important thing for me is getting experiences in my career in New Zealand. Besides, I can be a volunteer as probation. Please give me an opportunity to show my ability. Even though I might be overqualified than what you require at any positions, I can work from the beginning step and I really want to start building up my experiences at your company.
