Electronics Engineer with four and a half years of experience in planning and optimization of RF interface, with a high sense of responsibility, excellent capacity of work on several fields of telecommunications. High theorical and practical knowledge on IS-136(Nortel), GSM 850/1900 and UMTS 850 (Nokia) networks.

Radio planning and optimization Engineer - RF.

UMTS

1. Design of Link budget for different services such as Voice, Video Call, PS384.
2. Nominal design of the Bogotá network using the 2G sites as a base and using the Path Loss calculated with the link budget and a standard propagation model.
3. Assess the priority of site candidates based on Site surveys.
4. Final design of chosen sites based on technical visit.
5. Design of guidelines for Antenna selection, Antenna height, NodeB configuration, link budget design, site to site distance, propagation model used
6. Creation of mobile equipment, user profiles, services, NodeB equipment, etc. on the planning tool.
7. Simulation of RSCP, Ec/Io, Active set size, Monte Carlo analisys to evaluate coverage, quality and capacity for the sites designated using Asset3g and Mentum Planet.
8. Achieve the planning targets through changes in physical parameters like antenna, antenna height, azimuth, tilt, etc.
9. Keep updated the planning database with all the information obtained in the visits to sites.
10. Design of a Multi Erlang B macro for the dimensioning of channel elements, downlink and uplink power and Iub capacity.
11. Coordination of groups for the implementation of the network.
12. Verification of the frequency clearing for the new carrier of UMTS.
13. Preoptimization of the network verifying access and retention.
14. Design of neighbor lists for soft handover and intersystem handover to 2G using as input the information of the planning tool.
15. Verification of features, specially those used to optimize reselection and handover intersystem.
16. Improve methods and procedures to maximize the network performance.

GSM

17. Planning of new sites to increase capacity and coverage of the GSM network using tools Planet EV and Asset.
18. Design of hardware configuration to achieve the goals of new sites defining antenna, high, azimuth, tilt, combining etc.
19. Definition of BTS, Handover, Power, Neighbors and features parameters to integrate new sites.
20. Optimization of physical and BSS parameters through analysis of statistical information from OSS and information from drive tests.
21. Retunning of BCCH and Hopping layers in the 850 and 1900 bands for cities with more than 500 sites using mobile samples.
22. Design and execution of protocols to test and implement new features on the network.
23. Test of different setups of the parameter set to increase capacity and quality of the network.
24. Coordination of optimization teams on different cities to enhance KPIs of TDMA, GSM, GPRS and EDGE services.
