PROJECT 1 : UMTS RLC PROTOCOL STACK TESTING
Client : Hughes
Duration : 6 months
Role : Test Engineer
Protocol : RLC
Tools : Proprietary
Team size : 6 members
Description:
RLC is the upper most sub layer of layer 2 protocol of the access layer in a UMTS network and provides synchronization data transfer function between higher layer and the bearer (MAC/IP) of the data and controls messages. This protocol stack is based on UMTS portable Architecture (UPA) and complained with the latest 3GPP (REL-05) Technical Specification (TS-25.322). It works both in Iub, Iur and Iu interfaces. UMTS (REL-05) RLC provides backward compatibility to support UMTS Rel-99&04. RLC is also capable of performing certain control functions like timing adjustment, synchronization and updates to the radio parameters etc.
RLC features:
• Rich sets of API’s for catering to all needs of the system.
• Supports (IPV4& IPV6).
• Portable across multiple platforms like LINUX, Vxworks, SOLARIS, WINDOW.
• Full support of 3GPP Rel-05 HSDPA features.
• Supports both TDD & FDD.
Responsibility:
• Conformance testing of RLC protocol which involves testing of primitives
Present in the protocol.
• Writing and execution of test cases.
• Bug tracking through BUGZILLA.
PROJECT 2 : User Equipment Testing (UE)
Name : Hand Set-my850C
Client : Sagem

Tools : Proprietary
Team size : 5 members
Description:
This project is limited to validating the product for supported features and their interaction performance reliability, robustness, failure scenarios on the live network (GSM/GPRS) for end to end applications of the hard phone we are testing. The User Equipment is tested for the following functions:
• Feature Testing
• Concurrent Testing and
• Performance Testing.
Roles and Responsibilities:
• To validate the product for the features content as described in the PRD.

PROJECT 4 : SKY SIP C
Nature of the Project : SIP Client Testing
Client : e-sim
Duration : 10 months
Tools : Proprietary
Team Size : 4 members
Description:
A SIP enabled end device is called a SIP User Agent (UA). One purpose of SIP is to enable sessions to be established between User Agents. A SIP UA contains both a Client application and Server applications. The two parts are a User Agent Client (UAC) and a User Agent Server(UAS).The UAC initiates requests while the UAS generates responses during a session , a UA will usually operates as both a UAC and a UAS. This project involves testing of SIP enabled Soft phone.
Some of the features of this application are: Call Register, Call Screening , Incoming session Barring, Call hold , Instant Messaging /Personal alert, Call to Personal alert, Group call, Call Forwarding, Do not Disturb mode, Simultaneous Multi session Support(SSS), Incoming Personal Alert Barring, Unattended Transfer, Attended Transfer.
Roles and Responsibilities:
• Testing functionalities as per RFC 3261, 3665.
• Performing Conformance and Traffic Testing
• Testing the features like register, call-hold, transfer, forwarding, conferencing, etc.
• Writing and executing of test cases and generating Test reports.
• Bug tracking through Clear Quest.
