I have B.SC in Engineering (In the field of Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering) and completed the acedamic studies in M.Sc(Research is pending) In addition I have completed all CIMA (UK)exams. From Oct 2007 to the date Mapesbury communication (Mcom) is a UK Wireless Network provider who is about to launch its GSM offerings. •Carryout and support MCom network installation and configuration in NSS/BSS •Involve in MSC configuration with MSISDN planning, route planning and signaling planning and various other core network activities in the network setup stage •Carryout OMC configuration for the GSM network in Sun Solaris 10 environment •GTT configuration and MSRN planning as per the network requirements. •Carry out various other pre launch tests with SS7 signaling tracings to make sure proper performance of the system for voice and SMS. •In-depth Signaling analysis in different interfaces with MTP, SCCP and ISUP message flows to initial trouble shooting and performance measurements. Core network Architect(GSM/GPRS/UMTS and CDMA) Huawei Technologies, Sri Lanka From Feb 2005 to Oct 2007 Huawei Technologies is a leading Chinese telecommunication equipment manufacturer, which provides Telecommunication equipments and services in large Scale. •Network Planning, dimensioning of CDMA/GSM/UMTS/GPRS networks including BSS and NSS as per operators requirements. Dimensioned Huawei MGW controllers, MGWs , HLR, BSC and BTS with TDM and all IP networks to fulfill the requirements of the operators •Capacity planning of the network elements in mobile network to make sure service performance and the quality of the network. •Designed interface requirements of mobile network nodes considering average Eralng values of customers and their calling patterns to derive BHCA to design signaling link capacities. •Involve in RNP activities to fine tune the network performance together with Engineering teams from operators including parameter adjustments to improve QoS •As a responsible interface from Huawei, follow up project implementation by coordinating different parties to meet the deadlines. •Support CDMA/GSM/GPRS/3G pre-sales activities by preparing and delivering technical presentation and demonstration to customers including network concepts and solutions Technical Support Engineer (NSS and BSS in Hutchison) interWAVE Communications Inc. USA From March 2004 to Feb 2005 interWave is an American Telecommunication equipment vendor, specialized in providing equipment and services around the world. •Discharged the whole responsibilities related to GSM networks (Both BSS and NSS – System I&C and O&M) 1.System configuration as per customer requirements. This includes GTT, HLR/VLR, AuC configuration which highly utilized my sound theoretical background. 2.Network integration according to ITU, CCITT and ETSI standards. 3.GSM Network O&M as per the Service Level Agreement (SLA) 4.Custom Developments such as shell scripting and network node automation. •GSM Network Upgrading and Patch application •Network Troubleshooting 1. K1103 protocol analyzer was used to troubleshoot all the signaling related problems. 2.TEMS and in-built troubleshooting tools were used to investigate and optimize the BSS network. 3.Involve in GSM frequency planning and optimization. • OSS installation and O&M 1.OMC is on Sun Solaris platform, BSC/BTS worked on vxWorks software platform and obtained a sound understanding on the same including TCP/IP networking, patch application, firewall configuration 2.Database is on Oracle 8 and had a commanding knowledge on DB fine-tuning, table manipulation and front-end modifications using sqlplus. •Involved in configuring Intelligent Networks (IN) and CAMEL links with prepaid servers (PPS) •Configure and implement rural telecommunication services through satellite and RAD equipments by extending Abis/A interface through satellite. •Acquired extinctive knowledge and working experience in SS7 signaling (MTP, ISUP, TUP, SCCP, TCAP and MAP) ISDN and R2 signaling.
