Incorporate and analyze CW tests to create a model for a specific market. Perform radio propagation modeling and prediction to determine cell site location. Perform site surveys and support deployment activities of new sites. Recommend site configuration including antenna placements, heights, down tilt etc. Perform link budget analysis. Determine equipment and power configurations, forecasting channel capacity requirements, planning and optimizing system traffic. Resolve RF performance issues. Perform frequency planning. Interface with vendors and contractors to oversee and verify design, implementation, and deliverables. 2/96-3/98 SENIOR RF DESIGN ENGINEER Sprint PCS, Dallas, Texas Designed and optimized the Dallas MTA PCS(CDMA) radio network together with vendor Nortel(Richardson, TX) using PLANET and Grayson. Provided RF engineering support for all phases of deployment including site acquisition, implementation, installation, commissioning, integration, and acceptance tests. Responsible for FAA, FCC and EPA filings. Spent one year in Germany implementing the D2 GSM network while seconded from PacTel to Mannesmann Mobilfunk. Performed radio network designs when working on loan to LCC during this time. Performed system coverage prediction/verification, capacity planning and frequency planning. Supported site acquisition and base station implementation activities. Conducted site searches, analyzed drive test data, and specified antenna system hardware and configurations. Performed device S-parameter characterization using vector network analyzer. 9/87-12/88 COMPUTER ROOM TECHNICIAN The Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation, Sherman Oaks, California Responsible for the oversight of day-to-day operations of regional computer and telecommunication systems. Experience with Novell LAN, IBM 3270s, WANG VS, NTI PBX, IDNX/40 and a T1 fiber-optic private network. Heavy interface with users, vendors, contracted service and Network Control Center for problem resolution. Trouble-shot and maintained building cabling and data processing equipment.
