RELEVANT INDUSTRIAL TRAINING
Telecommunication Engineering Intern at B.S.N.L., Partap Vihar Ghaziabad, India
• Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) is the largest telecom service provider in India and the company is the national market leader in both wireline and wireless service delivery.
• The training gave me a chance to work with professionals having expertise in fields of telecommunication.
• Helped the engineers in testing and troubleshooting the switching operations in the exchange that served more than 10000 landline customers.
• Also participated in Survey held to improve the service and deal with customers complaints more effectively.
Telecommunication Engineer Trainee at ALTTC, Ghaziabad, India
• Advanced Level Telecom Training Centre (ALTTC), Ghaziabad is the apex training institute of BSNL.
• The training gives me hand on experience to the real life problems in telecommunication, exposed to techniques such as switching, transmission, network planning.
ANALYTICAL PROBLEM SOLVING SKILLS
• Problem solving has been dominant throughout my education. It was an essential skill in a number of modules such as Antenna & Wave propagation, R.F. & Microwave Circuit Fundamentals, and Digital Signal Processing.
• Often dealing with customer complaints and difficulties has led me to find solutions to problems in a calm and efficient manner.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS
• Good communication skills gained from conducting presentations in front of large audiences consisting of both lecturers and students.
• Developed good interpersonal skills by interacting with the customers while working at front counter.
• Often being left in charge of the Burger King front counter section which required excellent communication to fellow employees and to customers.
TEAMWORK & LEADERSHIP
• Teamwork involving good listening skills, encouragement and negotiation was an essential part of every group work exercise conducted at university to ensure a successful result.
• Working part time at Burger King encouraged me to work efficiently and competently in a team to please customers.
• Leadership qualities have been shown through numerous group exercises throughout my university career where I adopt a dominant but yet supportive and positive role.
• Captaining volley ball team required motivating the team to achieve objectives and co-operation from team members, an essential component of good leadership.
OTHER SKILLS
• Ability to plan, organise, prioritize my work, grasp new concepts and meet deadlines.
• High level of self-motivation throughout university achieving a 100 % attendance record and at work working six days a week throughout my Christmas holidays.
• Excellent English writing skills for documentations.
• Willingness to learn, and to work hard towards the company's goals.
• Practical experience with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet and E-mail.
• Ability to learn new soft wares and technologies quickly.
THESIS & ACADEMIC PROJECTS UNDERTAKEN
Performance of MBOK Modulation scheme in Infrared channel ( Dec 2005 – Sep 2006, University of Leeds , Leeds , UK )
• MBOK, a DSSS waveform technique was developed and investigated. Performance evaluated through simulations for number of system parameters including spreading sequence type and length. Experiments demonstrated better performance of MBOK scheme under the effects of multipath dispersion.
Image Compression using MATLAB toolkit (ABES Engineering College, Ghaziabad, India)
• The original images were compressed to reduce their size. MATLAB was used to accomplish the task and involved several coding techniques as well. The project covered several aspects of image compression; it also explained various coding used for compression such as Huffman, shanon Coding etc.
Design & simulation of different Modulation schemes (ABES Engineering College, Ghaziabad, India)
• Designed 8- PSK and 16-QAM using MATLAB for given parameters.
• Compared the system on basis of BER curves, Signal/Noise ratio and Eye diagram.
OTHER WORK EXPERIENCE
Oct 2005 – Jan 2007 Burger King, Briggate, Leeds, UK (Part Time Staff Member)
• Job gave me huge exposure to working culture in any organisation and I developed time management skills by managing both studies and work during my course.
Dec 2005 – Jan 2006 Debenhams, Briggate, Leeds, UK (Temporary Retail Assistant)
