| Profile/Cover Letter: |
My last professional experience was working in the Software Testing/Product testing department of BenQ mobile as a Team Leader for the last 2 years before I chose to study Master of Business Administration. My responsibilities consisted of reporting the software defects in mobile handsets found by my team members, preparing an analysis of the severity of the software defects and analyzing the risk to business and communicating the same to the R&D team. An important part of my responsibilities was being involved in the training of new employees of BenQ to ensure they understand their responsibilities and are aware of the process flow. I was also a part of the project planning team in the pre-launch phase of products for the European market with the Project Managers and the Director of the Product Assurance team. I have been actively involved in problem solving consulting with peers and colleagues based at numerous BenQ subsidiaries. Being an avid follower of the GSM/WCDMA/HSDPA mobile industry I was also involved in the significant decision making of the new product line-up following the trends of Product life cycle and market demand. This further motivated me in choosing the following modules in my MBA at the University of Bradford:
Strategic Technology and Innovation Management.
International Business Strategy.
International Competitiveness.
Business to Business Marketing.
These modules gave me an in-depth understanding of my previous responsibilities and understand them better. These modules combined with the core modules of MBA have given me a combination of a generic business environment coupled with the strategic management of technological innovation.
I had also been responsible for achieving numerous Service agreements with BenQ on site and the most important ones are listed below:
BenQ S82 for Vodafone Germany (UMTS).
BenQ S80 for Optus Australia (UMTS).
O2 X1b for O2-UK (2.5G).
O2 X4 for O2-UK (UMTS).
Due to these achievements, I was also selected to present a 2 day workshop at the Siemens mobile factory at Kamp-Lintfort, Germany. The workshop involved training the quality assurance department of Siemens on BenQ handset tools and platforms.
Prior to my employment with BenQ, I worked for 3 Global Services Ltd which was a captive contact center for the Mobile Operator 3UK. I utilized my skills and knowledge to a great extent in helping in devising modules related to mobile phones and CRM tools. My responsibilities included analyzing network and handset related faults and provided solutions for the same and testing different handsets CRM tools based on Peoplesoft. My employment with 3 Global Services has given me a background in the customer facing environment and helped me with client co-ordination while I was with BenQ.
I have obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Medical Electronics) from Bangalore University, India. My MBA project was carried out for Da Vinci consulting group based in Greece and my aim to understand the strategy and core competences of Nokia and Sony Ericsson and analyze reason they are at the top of the mobile handset sales in the UK.
Enclosed is a copy of my resume, which more fully details my qualifications for the position.
Thank you for your consideration,
Regards,
Vinod Nenwani
