Having acquired a Bachelors Degree in Electronic Engineering from Sir Syed University Of Engineering And Technology, I joined the zealous and highly professional team of Telenor Pakistan, starting off with mandatory training I became part of their Optimization Team in RF Engineering, whereby I learnt the essentials of monitoring different cell structures and optimization activities of networks. Previously I had also worked with Planning and Performance monitoring teams.
Working as an RF Optimization Engineer, every single day leads to a new challenge, polishing ability to get the job done with the very best solutions, removal of bad Quality patches and meeting the KPI targets with in define dead lines. Have done extensive drive tests and cluster acceptance drives in urban and remote area along with the KPI improvement activity on BSC and cell level.

More than 3 years of experience in the field of RF Planning & Optimization.
Optimization Activities
• Network performance monitoring by analyzing performance metrics like CSSR, DCR, SDCCH/TCH Blocking, SDCCH Drops, SDCCH/TCH Traffic Carried/cell, Handover Success Rate etc.
• Optimization of various Radio Network Parameters such as HRACTT, PWRRED, FHORLMO, RXLEVAMI, SYSID and RXLEVMIN to improve QoS in problematic coverage areas.
• Fine tuning of Handover and Cell Reselection parameters such as HORXLVDLI, HORXLVDLO, HOM, CELLRESH, CRESSOFF, EHRACT etc.
• Pre-Launch Optimization activities in various cities across the region.
• Traffic optimization and footprint adjustment of new and neighboring cells after the launch of new sites.
• Neighbor audit with the help of switch stats and BSC level stats.
• Identification and analysis of issues such as overshooting of cells, hardware problems and uplink interference from the different counters extracted from SPOTS and Optima.
• Involvement in Phase I, II and III cluster acceptance, analysis of cluster acceptance reports and proposing suggestions to the vendor.
• Frequency Planning with Co-channel (C/I) and Adjacent Channel (C/A) analysis.
• Created various virtual counters in SPOTS(Siemens Performance Measurement Tool)
• Actively involved in OPTIMA (AIRCOM Performance Measurement Tool) formulae validation.
• Created Excel based macros for Daily Routine Task automation.
• Actively involved in the creation of the Siemens Stats Monitoring Tool.
• Benchmarking of Telenor network with other operators in South Region on the basis of RX Level and RX Quality.
• Post processing and analysis of drive test log files using ACTIX analyzer and Spot light.

Planning Activities
• Initial Nominal Planning of number of Cities and Highways.
• Performed Technical Site Surveys (TSS) for various cities in South Region, also performed feasibility analysis and recommended configuration, number of TRX required and gain type of antennas.
• Approving TSS, Candidate ranking, Candidate search, finalizing search rings and search area maps.
• Proposed suitable candidates for site re-location in various residential areas, where site acquisition was an issue.
• Performed Frequency Planning with Co-channel (C/I) and Adjacent Channel (C/A) analysis and Frequency Hopping Implementation, SFH 1/1 and SFH 1/3 for different cities and newly on air site in the existing network.
• Performed Interference Neighbors Planning and Handover Neighbors Planning for the Dual Band Network and the additional sites in the network.
• Used MCOM, GINFO, PIANO, GSM Map Info Tool, various Map Info utilities.
• Responsible for nominal planning of Micros Cells (out door and in door) for supporting the coverage and capacity of the existing network, perform all of Indoor/outdoor Micro Cell Site TSS and recommend suitable locations, suitable position, antenna height and direction to get best results.
• Plan repeaters for the areas having bad coverage and in building solution, recommend suitable positions for the donor and accepter antennas.

• Stats Analysis after integration of new BSC’s.
• Performance of MSC’s & BSC’s after introduction of new nodes & rehoming activities.
