DETAIL WORK SUMMARY

MOTOROLA PROJECTS:

I am working in Protocol stack test case development team. Team is involved in developing test scripts to test protocol stack on Motorola dual mode handsets. Also team facilitates integration testing for new feature development. Integration testing is a benchmark to pull new feature in main protocol stack release. Integration testing plays vital role in new feature development roadmap. I have given key contributions in 2G dedicated single receiver integration test cases development.

PROJECT: 2G dedicated inter-RAT test cases development for dual mode single receiver phone
Legacy Motorola phones are using dedicated receiver for 2G and 3G. Dual receiver architecture is not accepted in the industry. Dual receiver has an impact on phone size and cost. Hence Motorola is moving towards single receiver architecture to reduce size and cost of the handset. In dual mode single receiver phone; single receiver is shared between 3G and 2G. Single receiver architecture is widely accepted in the industry.
I am responsible to deliver 2G dedicated inter-RAT test cases for Dual mode Single receiver handset. Layer1 2G dedicated integration team uses test cases developed by us.

Team size: 3

System Simulator: Anritsu 8480 B, PTS 3.8.1

Language: TTCN

Adaptor: MTP (Motorola proprietary test platform tool.) MTP plays a role of adaptor between Anritsu and ETSI primitives. Hence test cases developed on MTP could be used on other system simulator without major modifications.

Role:
1. Test requirement analysis, review and effort estimation
2. Identification of risk and dependencies
3. Test development and test case review
4. Support to team member on GSM GPRS domain knowledge and in de-bugging issues

Key Contributions:
1. No change request reported on developed test cases and met all planned schedules
2. Developed base script for voice call signaling on SDCCH8
3. Developed base script for 2G-2G handover and 2G-2G cell reselection with 3G neighbor cell reporting
4. Developed base script for voice call during TBF with 3G neighbor cell reporting
5. Developed base script multi slot TBF test cases with 3G neighbor cell reporting
6. Developed scripts for voice call on SDCCH8, TCH/F and TCH/H with 3G neighbor cell reporting
7. Developed 2G to 3G handover cases with inter RAT cell reporting

PROJECT: Generic BAND Test Requirement Documentation
Motorola was using test requirement document for every UTRA FDD band. Maintenance of band dependent documents is difficult. So team proposed band independent test requirement document. I was responsible to document all band dependent test parameters and identify new scenarios. I covered 10 UTRA FDD bands as specified by 3GPP.

Team size: 2

Role: New test requirement identification and test requirement documentation

Key Contributions:
1. Identified inter RAT scenarios
2. Identified all band dependent test parameters
3. Added new entries to existing document structure to cover exhaustive test requirements

FREESCALE PROJECTS:
In Freescale I worked in Infra development team and Validation team. Validation team is involved in certifying the Freescale reference platform for dual mode handsets. Infra development team is involved in developing test scripts to test protocol stack on dual mode Freescale reference platforms. Also Infra team facilitates integration testing for new feature development. I’ve worked in GPRS multi slot class 12 integration test case development team.

PROJECT: DTM Test Requirement Documentation
Class B GPRS mobile doesn’t support CS and PS service simultaneously. Class B GPRS mobile with DTM (Dual transfer mode) feature supports CS and PS service simultaneously in coordinated fashion. I was responsible to document test requirements for DTM multi slot class. I prepared detailed functional test coverage for DTM multi slot feature.

Team Size: 2

Role: DTM feature study and Test requirement documentation

Key Contributions:
1. Given good analysis on DTM feature
2. Given good analysis on DTM multi slot class
3. Identified functional test scenarios

PROJECT: GPRS Multi Slot Class 12 Test Development for integration testing
GPRS multi slot class 12 capable mobile station supports 4 timeslots in uplink and 4 timeslots in downlink and maximum 5 timeslots in uplink and downlink together. I was part of team to develop GPRS multi slot class 12 test cases. GPRS multi slot class 12 handset must support extended dynamic allocation.
I have given good contributions in developing GPRS multi slot class 12 test scripts. Developed test cases were used for GPRS multi slot class 12 integration testing.

Team size: 3

System Simulator: CRTU-G

Language: C

Role: Test requirement analysis and test developer

Key Contributions:
1. Developed test cases with dynamic USF allocation using extended dynamic allocation method
2. Developed test cases with fixed USF allocation using extended dynamic allocation method
3. Developed test cases with data transfer to test different RLC operations such as window size, polling

PROJECT: Functional test case development
Functional test development is focused on to develop new test scenarios which could not be covered in conformance testing. I have developed functional test cases to validate Freescale dual mode reference platform.

Team size: 2

System Simulator: CRTU-G

Language: C

Role: Test developer

Key Contributions:
1. Developed GSM handover, cell reselection test cases
PROJECT: GPRS and EGPRS Conformance testing on Anite/CRTU-G
Conformance testing is focused on testing signaling specific to protocol stack layers like RR, RLC/MAC, and LLC etc. I have worked on 41, 42, 43, 44, 52 and 53 series from 51-010.

Team size: 3
