Responsibilities:
- Work with development team for the design and implementation of a highly scalable and extensible database environment that supports advanced mobile payment applications.
- Take the business requirements that will drive the database and applications architecture and produce a solid database design.
- You must have had experience with database design and deployment in a MySQL high availability database environment.
- Analyze database management requirements and storage requirements with respect to the product roadmap.
- Define and develop a robust transactional and reporting system in conjunction with the application development team.
- Work with online collaboration systems for workflow management and system documentation.
- You must have had experience in pre-production database testing with respect to metrics for database system performance and database system sizing.
- You must have had experience with respect to current database security architecture and deployment techniques.
- You should have a solid ability to work in an agile database development environment where product requirements will drive the design.
- You must have strong experience with respect to the monitoring and management of production database deployments.
- You must have had experience working with the production management team in dealing with real time production database problems.
Required Skills & Experience:
- A BS or above in Computer Science or Information Technology or equivalent industry experience and training.
- At least 7 plus years of designing and implementing large-scale high availability database services with preference given to MySQL.
- Proven track record of designing and deploying high availability production database systems in an agile development environment.
- Excellent skills with respect to the database system lifecycle for design, deployment, support and maintenance.
- You have had previous database experience in payment or billing systems.
- A solid knowledge of database development tools for agile system development with respect to application interface modeling.
- Proven experience in database design and application interfacing with emphasis on JDBC application access.
- Solid experience with MySQL High availability cluster management and monitoring.
- Solid experience in database tuning for optimization with respect to high transaction throughput and quick response times.
- Solid experience in database deployment in a Linux cluster environment.
- Strong problem solving and business process analysis skills
- Strong interpersonal communications skills.
- Be completely fluent in English with respect to both the written and spoken word.
