Powerwave Technologies in Santa Ana, CA, seeks an experienced, results-oriented Principal Electrical Engineer-Antenna Electronics to lead the design and development of advanced antenna products involving complex, innovative electromechanical features for the Company.

POSITION OVERVIEW
You are an experienced Electrical Engineering professional, reporting to the Director of Antenna Development; a self-starter with a passion for RF, analog circuits, digital control circuits and experience with electromechanical devices preferably related to antennas.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY
Job Duties involve design and development of advanced antenna products with complex innovative electromechanical features. The individual selected will be expected to take a lead role in the company for those elements of the advanced antenna designs involving all non-antenna electrical/electronic functions. Any experience in electromechanical devices related to antennas (antenna actuators, antenna positioning devices) is particularly relevant. This is a lead position on high value projects, other requirements include; ability to communicate clearly to management, ability to work in a group situation, ability to balance a variety of assignments. Some international travel (1-2 trips per year) expected.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
• BSEE with emphasis in digital control circuit design. MSEE preferred. 10+ years experience.
• Broad background in RF, analog circuits and digital control circuits. This includes low power gain stages, RF control circuits.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES
• Previous experience with RF testing.
• Ability to create simulation models for RF circuits using analysis tools such as ADS, MATLAB, etc.
• Proven ability to take design projects from conception to production.
• Ability to accomplish project objectives with minimum supervision.
• Desire to work in a fast paced commercial environment.
• Ability to clearly present designs, issues, proposals, solutions to management.
• Desktop computer skills are essential for reports and project management (Microsoft Office Suite) and for design documentation.
DESIRED but not REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE
• Experience with antenna control systems (earth station, mobile broadcast, etc.)
• Previous knowledge of 3GPP requirements and/or AISG standards
• Antenna design experience
• Mechanical design experience
• System engineering experience
