WIMAX – RF (RAN) Engineer
Task
• Deployment, troubleshooting, RF planning support for IEEE802.16-2005 based solutions and architectures.
Experience with the deployment of legacy cellular network (2-4 years):
• Knowledge of sites deployment procedure
• Troubleshooting skills (RF and IP)
• Hands-on experience on any of the RF related site testing tools (Agilent, Tektronix, etc)
RF knowledge
• Strong knowledge of IEEE-802.16-2005 standard
• Excellent knowledge of link budget
• Excellent knowledge of capacity planning for IP based networks
• RF Planning experience using any RF planning tools (Netplan, ATDI, etc) is a plus
• Capable of performing RF site surveys and preparing RF site survey reports
Other required skills
• Good knowledge of linux/unix OS systems
• Problem solving/troubleshooting skills are a must
• Profiles which may not have Wimax experience but CDMA exp. and IP skills.
WIMAX – IP Core Engineer
Good command of
• UNIX (Linux is preferred)
• Windows and Microsoft operating systems and applications
• TCP/IP protocol stack and IP addressing
• IP Routing and switching
• design and capacity planning to be able to design and look after the network
• testing and troubleshooting IP networks
• MPLS and Traffic engineering
• VPN knowledge (Generic, IPSec and MPLS based)
• IMS and VoIP knowledge
• Overall knowledge of 3GPP, TiSPAN, PacketCable and OMA specs
• IP Routing Knowledge on Cisco Platforms.
• Basic IP Applications Knowledge: DNS, DHCP, RADIUS.
Overall knowledge of WiFi and WiMAX standards specifications (802.11, .16 and .20) and the associated revisions (11a, 11b, 11g, 11s, 16d, 16e ...etc)
Bonus Skillsets
• Good command of SE series Redback routers
• Good command of Foundry L2/3 switches
• Advanced understanding of IP routing protocols.
• Knoweledge on Redback Equipment.
