Senior Switch (SGSN) Network Engineer
Significant technical expertise with the configuration, performance, development, and validation of the Ericsson, Nortel, and Nokia SGSN platform (should have experience with 2 out of 3).
Will be supporting lab configuration, integration, and validation activities for an upcoming priority project.
Should have a very detailed understanding of the internal and external components of the SGSN platform as well as how each component functions and what it does, and how to validate if it is working correctly or not.
Must have a very detailed understanding of the UMTS NW, and the specific function of the SGSN, as well as the SGSN\'s function as part of the end to end UMTS NW.
Must understand how to validate the platform from a `unit` validation direction, as well as an end to end configuration.
Position will be focused on the 2G (GPRS/Edge) network.
Will be focused on IOT support for multi-vendor RAN/SGSN cominations.
Will be responsible for validating and certifying the multi-vendor combinations in a lab environment, certifying handover and inter-operability of these combinations with other, already certified RAN/SGSN vendor combinations, working through IOT issues with the vendors, and attempting to optimize performance and dimensioning of these combinations for the duration of their existence within the network.
Big plus to have 3G packet core and RAN knowledge.
Must be able to work as an independent contractor.
