Candidate Profile:
The Senior Manager of Product Management and Marketing will assist with both the inbound and outbound product lifecycle for the Company\'s product suite. In addition, they will be an instrumental part in aiding the Vice President of Product Marketing with the creation of content papers, product road-mapping and Board presentations. The ideal candidate will have deep product expertise in the telecommunications industries, as well as, will posses an entrepreneurial spirit. Furthermore, the Senior Manager of Product Management and Marketing will play an integral part of collaborating with the Sales team to aid them with the product technical expertise in addition to outbound marketing sales support.
This position reports to the VP of Product Marketing, and is based in Mountain View, CA. This individual must be have the ability to work strategically in cooperation with the Company’s senior management team, yet have the functional skills to effectively work at the Product Manager level. This individual must work well as a member of the technology organization’s management team but should be a strong leader who has the ability to develop and articulate ideas and stances to other senior executives.
Success criteria for this individual will include the ownership and development of the product from inception to market introduction. The ideal candidate will be a self starter who has the ability to perform various roles within an organization, and who can take ownership of a product throughout its lifecycle. In addition, we seek an excellent track record of developing innovative and effective tools, with the ability to articulate product benefits to a sales force and channel partners, this including business cases and special deal-structures. This candidate will posses exceptional creativity with powerful communication and presentation skills; they must encompass the well-developed ability to work within a multicultural environment, with varying personalities, as well as varying degrees of functionality and experience, both large company and small company/start-up settings. Additionally, this individual must have the ability to successfully work within a multi-location organization and serve as a coach and mentor to others in the organization.
This individual should have a minimum of 5-10 years of product management/product marketing in a technology environment, partnering with sales and engineering to effectively bring products to market. This individual should also have 2-3 years experience in the broadband wireless systems sector, particularly WiMAX, Cellular, Wi-Fi/WLAN, familiarity with wireless markets and regulations in the North American market. Additionally, prior experience in international or multicultural environments is preferred though not a requirement. Experience with Channel Marketing is a plus.

General Responsibilities:
• Drive analysis, recommendations and consensus to determine highest value markets for Company products.
• Prepares and maintains segment focused go-to-market strategy, pricing structure, marketing materials
• Provides coaching and training to build core product management/marketing competencies and a common set of experiences across the organization
• Translate market and customers needs into product features and must be able to aggressively push requirements into product features implementation.
• Key contributor in product lifecycle support for new product introduction, sustaining the product, and end of life processes
• Translate product features into value propositions and market approaches, and articulate these through sales tools for our channel partners, develop tailored solution promotions and marketing programs, represent Company product portfolio and strategies with customers/partners.
• Maintaining depth – our candidate must have an understanding of the competition within the segment and communicate findings throughout company. |
