Title: E911 Engineer Manager
Location: Tulsa, OK
Salary: Mid to high 90s with a bonus potential of 15% and a long term cash incentive of 20% of base (which I can explain). Will relocate if needed.
Summary: What they really are looking for are Project Managers who can manage people as well as projects. Experience in an E911 environment is absolutely required as well as the technical know how of how to set up. Ideally this person should have come up through E911 environments and have recently moved into management (2-3 yrs mgmt exp). 4 engineers will report in to this person and the person must also have had exposure to compliance type work as this is a heavily scrutinized area.
The group deals with the backend of network and tracking calls for inbound 911 calls. One of their main priorities is to make sure 911 calls are connected and not dropped. The company is a leading provider of wireless communications services.
Essential Functions:
• New service Deployments – The engineer works with internal departments: RF, Interconnect, Translations and Network Operations to create GIS RF site data, verify trunk orders to the 911 tandem, verify end to end testing of the trunks has been completed.
• New & Existing Deployments – Work closely with our Phase 1 & Phase 2 database provider to provide actuate GIS information and other data required to properly provision the cell sites into their database.
• In Phase 2 applications, create data files and load information into the Base Station Almanac (BSA) maintained by our database provider.
• Troubleshooting 911 issues for new and existing deployments
• Responsible for scheduling and coordination of live E911 testing. Analyze all test results and resolve any issues identified in the processed data.
• Provide ad hoc analysis for various projects as required
Job Experience:
• 3-5 years in a technical position with the cellular company or LEC
• 2-3 years managing multi-task projects, multiple project in parallel and efficiently communicate at all levels with project members
• 1-2 years working in a technical position in either a cellular company, LEC or government agency with a focus on 911 deployment, compliance & maintenance is preferred.
Industry Experience:
• General knowledge of RF, general understanding of 911 and experience with sophisticated software
• 2-5 years of CDMA RF, previous PDE/MPC experience and experience with SnapTrack Tool is preferred.
Other:
• Software tools knowledge: Planet EV, MapInfo, SnapTrack, MS Excel & Access or equivalent sophisticated software applications.
• Drive Test Equipment: Needs working knowledge of various test units: Actix, Agilent, Andrew
Education:
• BS required, BSEE preferred
