******Atoll is the most important skill, please provide in notes section quick explanation of what how experienced candidate is using Atoll and what types of projects they used this skill on***********
Provide engineering services for UMTS RF design and optimization for Telecommunication markets. Support the delivery of the RF Design for all Telecommunication Markets under the design and RF Central teams. Validate and perform the analysis of the Design and optimization input data as well as format and compile all required output reports. Perform with some general guidance and direction the tasks specified in the Scope section below. Have a technical background suitable to allow significant contribution to a technical area of importance to Alcatel - Client. ScopePlan, develop and generate an UMTS RF design for Telecommunication markets.Activities & Responsibilities· Read and understand Telecommunication / Client UMTS Statement of Work and RF Design Guidelines· Obtain design ID for Client market (provided by the Client Project Lead)·
Collect all design assumptions for the market assigned to you from the Project Lead and the Telecommunication RF Lead including (antenna database, morphology classes, coverage boundaries, site database, hotspots, service expectations, traffic data, ASAC/FAA/FCC data)· Work with Overall RF lead engineer to understand the RF design, cluster definition, customer expectation, and network configuration·
Obtain Link Budget from the RF Design Guidelines. Create a project in Atoll (Forsk) RF planning tool on suitable PC platforms· Load the (terrain, clutter, antenna database, coverage boundaries, site database, traffic data detailed maps for the area (streets, major highways, local roads)· If required, visit site areas prior to planning to:o Confirm morphology and select appropriate propagation modelso Identify geographical features not in the terrain and clutter databases· If required, Identify sites with customer for drive test (CW) with the support of MLo Generate drive route maps to use by drive team o Obtain test frequencies for CW testso Work with customer, site acquisition and ML to obtain access to sites for testingo Manage drive team to ensure M&P procedures and Client recommendations are followed and implemented when performing the drive testso Analyze and process CW data, obtain path loss and share with customer.
Generate plots, maps and binders as agreed upon M&P process and SOW·
Tune or verify the Propagation Models based on continuous wave (CW) drive tests ·
Incorporate path loss model, design assumptions and link budget data in design·
Perform sanity check on antenna selection and configuration·
Produce the traffic maps and run predictions and simulations as described in the RF Design Guidelines·
Generate a preliminary design using the supplied friendly site database to populate the RF design planning tool.
The agreed upon analysis plots and statistics required are listed in the RF Design Guidelines· Establish an internal design review with Alcatel-Client employees ·
Troubleshoot problem areas and provide recommendations for system performance enhancements.
Study the RF design coverage maps and identify problem areas in terms of coverage, interference, or pilot pollution.
Recommend and implement changes in various network parameters including translation parameters, antenna configurations, etc.
Generate Final design documents and presentation and present to Telecommunication· Produce the RF Data Sheets for each site· Create the initial neighbor list setup (3G and IRAT)· Archive the design Deliverables:All design, documents and presentations must be produced using the existing templates and the information provided in the latest RF Design Guidelines Document.
The deliverables from this phase are: A nominal cell plan document outlining the design philosophy, assumptions, objectives and cell count· Traffic maps· Predictions and Monte Carlo simulations· Optimization of the design· Plots and statistics of predicted coverage, interference and capacity. · Design Document and presentation· Design Review· RF Data Sheet· Neighbour
