RF Engineer:
Perform radio network design and optimization for high capacity wireless networks using GSM
and UMTS technologies. Lead resource for routine monitoring and review of BSS/Core network
Key Performance Indicators (KPI). Support the RF teams regarding GSM/GPRS/UMTS
optimization, parameter setting and performance issues. Interface with other regional
functional teams such as: RF planning, RAN engineering, In-building, and UMTS Design
group.
Requirements: M.S degree in Electrical Engineering. Must have knowledge in radio network
design, KPI monitoring and network optimization of GSM/GPRS/UMTS systems.
RF ENGINEER
Job Description: RF Engineer is responsible for the analysis, design, implementation and
enhancement of wireless telecommunications networks. Responsibilities include linking budget
analysis, system dimensioning for coverage and capacity, initial system design and
dimensioning, site identification and evaluation, zoning analysis, zoning testimony support,
frequency planning and interference analysis.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform RF network design, planning and optimization activities
Perform link budget analysis, design criteria and traffic analysis
Ensure data integrity of various morphology/topography databases and drive test
data for model calibration
Carry out area and site surveys to identify RF equipment location and antenna
orientation
Understand equipment co-location requirements for multiple operators
Perform inter-modulation analysis
Perform site candidate evaluation
Support leasing/zoning teams as subject matter expert at zoning hearings
Verify RF related site engineering drawings
Perform site build verification and acceptance
Perform frequency and BCC planning and/or PN planning
Perform co-channel and adjacent channel interference testing and analysis
Qualifications & Essential Requirements:
Bachelor of Science from a four-year college in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or
equivalent with an emphasis in wireless telecommunications. Requires 3 plus years of
work experience in RF wireless design engineering for a telecommunications systems.
The work experience should be related to RF network and infrastructure planning,
deployment and optimization experience
OR, Master of Science in Electrical Engineering (MSEE) or equivalent with an emphasis
in wireless telecommunications. Requires 2 plus years of work experience in RF
wireless design engineering for a telecommunications systems. The work experience
should be related to RF network and infrastructure planning, deployment and
optimization experience
Possess good knowledge of mobile radio propagation aspects
Must have worked and used one or more RF propagation/prediction tools
Must have worked on one or more industry acceptable performance data
management tools, drive test tools and other optimization tools
Willing to travel to project locations across US
