Responsible for managing the analysis, design, implementation and enhancement of wireless telecommunications networks. These include existing and planned networks for cellular and digital mobile phone and data transmission networks. The RF Engineer acts as project lead while conducting the project, with responsibilities that include approving RF sites, link-budgets, system dimensioning for coverage and capacity including traffic analysis, evaluating system design and dimensioning, frequency planning and interference analysis, network optimization, performance acceptance.

Seek to gain a good knowledge of all existing and future wireless networks, and particularly a comprehensive knowledge on system specifications of UMTS and one other technology from WiMAX, CDMA and GSM; Deliver RF engineering service; Perform RF engineering related technical analysis based on telecommunication industry development; Provide logistics support for RF engineering function; Manage RF subcontractor. Present RF solution proposal according to need of clients and industry status. Participate in meetings with potential clients and deliver presentation as required; Represent organization to clients, and work actively to enhance business opportunities with clients and communicate further opportunities to the relevant personnel; Determine customer satisfaction and communicate to the relevant personnel.
Define and implement processes and procedures for RF tasks; Manage large RF teams spread across several locations; Communicate RF team budget, milestones and deliverables to project management and implement plans to accomplish the milestones within budget; Perform RF engineers performance reviews; Identify needs and plan for RF engineering training; play an active role in the development of training materials; train RF engineers and staff from other functions as required; be a mentor to other engineering colleagues as required; Recruit RF engineering staff
