Lead & Manage the Satellite Design Integration and Structures Department within the S/C Products Shared IPT reporting to the Spacecraft Products Director.

Accountabilities include development, design, acquisition and assembly and test of all satellite bus and payload module structures and associated ground support equipment. As a senior manager of the Design Integration and Structure Department you will be responsible for its overall technical performance, cost and schedule execution, risk management, affordability and overall program execution in accordance with Program Management Best Practices and Theory of Constraint principles. In addition, you are responsible for personnel performance evaluation, business excellence, and domain processes control. The department\'s program execution accountabilities include engineering development, design, structural analyses, tooling design and procurement, structures procurement and assembly, and structures testing. This manager has K and L level managers reporting in and deploys IPT leaders and team personnel into integrated program teams responsible for hardware technical performance, hardware qualification, hardware quality, affordability, product engineering and manufacturing cycle time, and project risk management. This manager leads the department in its support of Spacecraft Products VSP business goals through deployment and continuous improvement, 6-sigma, Lean + processes. Additional activities include competitive benchmarking assessments, IR&D efforts linked to technology roadmaps, cost models, bid and proposal teams, common work break-down structure charge number control, overhead management, labor deployment driven by average labor rate strategies, material cost management through supplier management or subcontract management initiatives, program direct cost management through earned value tools, capital and facilities planning linked to site indirect cost goals, and actively focused project risk management techniques.

Experience in composite structures engineering, manufacturing, and testing with demonstrated successful experience as a line and/or a project manager. Expertise in structural engineering, design and analysis principles, and analytical techniques and tools. Understanding of composite and metallic materials properties (including strength, stiffness, density, CTE, and CME), and their associated manufacturing techniques. Familiarity with satellite system and subsystem design principles and practices. Familiarity with computer-aided-design (CAD) and finite-element-method (FEM) practices and tools, including Pro-E, CATIA, NASTRAN, and PATRAN. Familiarity with separation system (launch lock) engineering design principles and practices. Prior experience in managing multiple programs/projects in a multifunctional organization. Proven track record in building high performance teams responsible for complex mechanical assemblies. Proven track record of managing relationships with multiple suppliers and creating a high level of customer satisfaction.

Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Aerospace, Civil or related Engineering field required Master of Science in Mechanical or Civil Engineering preferred MBA preferred Ability to obtain DoD Secret and SSBI clearances required -- existing clearances desired.
