The role:
Vodafone Global is currently recruiting for a Radio Networks Test Engineer to join their R&D department focusing primarily on the new radio 3g technologies. You will be responsible for planning and executing laboratory and field trails of future radio technologies in conjunction with technology developers and providing recommendations to the business on the potential of the technologies.

The role of Radio Test & Evaluation Engineer will be a key position within the R&D team and shaping the future of Vodafone’s radio technology strategy
Your main responsibilities as a Radio Networks Test Engineer will involve:
•Providing detailed assessment of future radio technologies and recommendations to the business on their future strategy
•Working closely with radio technology developers and third party suppliers to effectively deliver the trials
•Develop detailed test specifications and trial plans to address the features of technologies under assessment
•Presenting the results and recommendations of the trails to a variety of levels in the technology and strategy teams.
Your skills and qualifications as a Radio Networks Test Engineer will ideally include:
•Educated to degree level in Engineering or Computer Science or similar experience
•Significant experience in Radio technologies
•Detailed knowledge of key radio technologies including 3GPP, IEEE802 and broadcast technologies e.g. DVH-B and MediaFLO
•Detailed understanding of architecture and protocols (eg 3GPP core architecture, TCP/IP and IMS)
•Experience of lab and/or field trials
•A proven track record of successful project delivery with significant technical contribution
•Experience of working in collaborative projects (ie with external partners)
•Experience of producing test specifications and plans including analytical reports and briefing materials.
