Worked closely with utility customers, wireless operators and RAN equipment vendors in the US, Australia and Japan to validate and debug system designs and deployments. Ran Implementation of the system leveraged WiMAX idle mode to achieve 99.9% billing reads with more than 28000 smart meters per cell. Companys technology uses an open standards, Linux based distributed intelligence model, and is designed and licensed to manage 4M nodes, with largest deployment exceeding 1.8M meters and 600,000 gas meters.
Lead engineer for all IOT/interoperability activity between Grid Net, chipset and RAN vendors. Advanced understanding of WiMAX MAC and PHY, RAN and core signaling. Limited implementation and support of Zigbee SEP 1.1 integration across various smart energy end-devices.
Pre and post-sales field engineer for debugging, troubleshooting and diagnostics of pre-production software and hardware in technology demonstrations.
Conducted certification activities with WiMAX networks in Asia/Pacific and USA
Led bring up with manufacturing partners in Guangzhou, China and Sydney
Key subject matter expert on system architecture and system operation for business development meetings with RAN vendors, system integrators, operators and meter vendors across Europe, Asia/Pacific and United States.
Developed 3G and 4G device network performance requirements, system modeling, network and system tuning for 150,000 operating smart grid devices on private utility and public networks.

Sprint-Nextel, San Ramon, CA
2005-August 2008 Regional EVDO system performance
(action, task) Extensive knowledge of CDMA/EVDO air interface protocol and Alcatel-Lucent infrastructure with three-year focus on parameter optimization through interpretation of operational and service measurements. Responsible for regional support of deployment and optimization for new EVDO network overlay.

Subject matter expert for EVDO optimization. Hosted monthly regional calls with all markets concerning known issues under investigation and new parameters.
Architected a Perl tool used for analyzing CDMA and EVDO handoff list in all Alcatel-Lucent switching centers (70% of Sprint customers nationwide).
Identified and resolved critical system wide software defects, including sleeping EVDO cell, Rev A license expiration, and TCP slowdowns due to firewall utilization.
Developed SQL queries against service measurement database for auto-tuning and identification of problem network elements based on historical trends. Data mining algorithm rapidly deployed across all Alcatel-Lucent cells nationwide to detect outages, monitor KPIs, and alert technicians of element failures.

2003-2005 Oakland/San Francisco Bay Area field engineer
Local optimization engineer responsible for San Francisco Bay Area macro system performance and optimizing existing infrastructure to improve signal density for business and residential customers in rural through dense urban areas.
Represented Sprint interests in design meetings for cell placement in Pleasanton and Berkeley, areas known for strict zoning and difficult approvals. Both sites were approved with elevated height.
Built relationship with field operations technicians and sales engineers, conducting numerous training courses on FCC maximum permissible exposure, Alcatel-Lucent cell and network architecture and RF engineering objectives.
Lead field operations and site development to integrate 23 new cell sites across the Bay Area.
Strong relationship with local FCC after acting as key contact in three month investigation for anonymous 911 caller in Belmont.
BART
