Managed programs/projects from $25K to $100M
Led the successful deployment of LTE and CSFB in an extremely short period, making Rogers the 1st carrier in Canada to launch LTE data sticks and smartphones
Spearheaded the planning and deployment of VoLTE keeping Rogers ahead in the technology race in Canada
Delivered the IP Backbone infrastructure to support integration of IMS core to develop VoLTE models
Managed various projects involving deployment/SW Upgrades of Blade Cluster-MSCs, MGWs, RNCs, GGSN, SGSN, MPG, MME, HSS, HLR, CUDB, Juniper and Cisco switches and routers such as MX960, MX480, 7609 and HP IUM to support LTE/HSPA Core Network growth
LTE Program (2010-Present)
I managed one of the most important programs at Rogers in 2011-2012 to deploy the latest generation of wireless technology Long Term Evolution (LTE) in the major commercial markets across Canada. Project was successfully achieved ahead of timelines as Rogers launched LTE ahead of other carriers in Canada
Extended LTE support to smartphones by deploying the first Ericsson CSFB solution in North America
Planned the integration of the LTE EPC with the IMS core to support VoLTE
Worked with business & technology stakeholders, proactively identified conflicts and issues, managed relations between various teams and stakeholders such as vendors, PMOs, technology development, engineering, change control, testing and operations teams.
Used MS Project for project plan/schedule, established the reporting templates, published and prioritized known issues and workarounds.
Provided updates to project plan, scope definitions and resource calendars, adjusted scope and schedule baseline
Provided weekly roadmaps to the steering committee forecasting the tentative timelines of the projects
Responsible for change management process activities and approval of Emergency Change Requests
Supervised and directed the workflow of various teams and delivered the milestones on time and on budget
Wireless IP Backbone, Core Network Upgrades (2010-Present)
Upgrades of the wireless IP Backbone (HW/SW, WAN links) to ensure sufficient capacity for the growing data traffic on the Wireless network. Furthermore, adding RNCs/MGWs/MSCs to the core UMTS network to sustain the increase in customers on the Rogers Wireless network across Canada.
Assessed existing infrastructure (server SW, link capacities, HW limitations, user capacities, traffic loads)
Created deployment plan for SW/HW upgrades and presented the updated network architecture to stake holders and senior management
Analyzed and sized the risk to the projects, created risk register, created mitigation plan and managed residual risk
Performed margin analysis on the resources procured, created all the necessary project documents including project plan, communications plan, risk register, risk response plan, procurement plan and performance reports.
Managed 2 major cable network hub migration programs with over 30 sub projects in Ottawa and Newfoundland involving relocating the entire existing hub to the brand new facilities providing upgraded capacity as well as meeting environmental standards
Identified integration points between several sub-systems and liaised over 15 engineering teams and operations groups to finalize the integration schedule.
Created communications plan, managed all stakeholders, relationship with stakeholders and with vendors such as Juniper, Cisco, Nortel/Genband, Fujitsu
M2M (Machine to Machine) APN builds (2009-Present)
Managed over 100 projects a year involving Machine to Machine communications using private APNs bringing in over $65 million revenue per year
I was involved in the process meetings to streamline the build timelines to accommodate the forecasted growth of over 400% in 2012
Project Analyst Rogers Communications (May 2008 May 2009)
Technical Environment Business Objects, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, Microwave Systems, Pathloss 4.0,
Prepared the Rogers proposal for the Govt. of Canada to accommodate the G8 and G20 summits to be held in Toronto/Ontario through network usage statistics obtained from Business Objects Network KPIs
Provided cell site information and formed the new site deployment strategy during the HSPA+ rollout to increase Rogers footprint to the Top 88% of Canadas population
Managed the fiber transport upgrade project for rollout to Top 88% population of Canada and ensured no delays in the rollout timelines
Associate Engineer Advanced Micro Devices (AMD), Inc. (May 2006 August 2007)
Technical Environment MS Project, MS Excel, SharePoint,
Managed the Northbridge ASIC - AMD690s qualification by developing test methodologies and preparing reports limiting the test escape to 1% while meeting deadlines to ensure extremely high performance of the final product
Identified problems and derived and executed solutions to debug the problems on the ASIC working closely with the design and software teams in Toronto and remotely with the teams in Silicon Valley to improve the compatibility and functionality of the ASIC
Devised cost-effective experiments to solve client-specific problems providing utmost satisfaction to the customers including Intel, DELL, HP, ASUS and Microsoft and therefore helped strengthen companys business relations
Trained and supervised new interns by checking daily reports and helping them when needed ensuring performance and reliability
