Managed Services Consultant / Engineer - Field Maintenance for Viva Telecom/ Managed Services (July 7, 2010 present)
Reporting directly to the Managed Services Director and representing the interest of the client (Viva Telecoms Kuwait) through the proper management of the contractor (Huawei Technologies) while performing their contractual responsibilities of conducting Field Maintenance activities to all the Radio Access Network equipments and its Support Facilities (about 1,566 cell sites and still expanding).
Monitor and manage the strict compliance of the contractor (Huawei Managed Services) to the approved Preventive Maintenance and Inspection schedule and the process.
Monitors and manage the correct and prompt execution of the Corrective Maintenance activities by the contractor and/or its subcontractor.
The authority to provide approvals for System Change Requests (MDT / TCN) made by Managed Services contractor (Huawei) that pertains to Power / Support Facilities of VIVA CORE sites and main hub sites (located inside MoC premises).

Accomplishments
1. Discovered major installation deficiencies and mistakes committed by Huawei Implementation Team that are contributory to preventable network outages or poor performance and initiated corrective actions. Also informed the Viva Acceptance Teams about the issue.
a. Incorrect installation of microwave antenna systems and ODUs on a great number of microwave radios on ON-AIR sites.
b. Missing vital alarm monitoring on the NMS for 79 GRD and 47 COW sites (generator faults and low fuel alarms)
c. COW and GRD sites with no Lightning Protection and Grounding System. Also, did the design for the Lightning and grounding system used for COW sites.
2. Corrected/ revised the Lightning Protection and Grounding System Design of Rooftop Macro sites that are already turned over to the Managed Services.
Due to wide spread incidents of vandalism and/or copper theft, this design was further revised by me to add features to discourage this from recurring (use of suitably sized cheap aluminum wire, aluminum bus-bars, etc).
3. Initiated the establishment of guy wire tension standards and pioneered the use of measuring tools in the periodic tension testing of the guy wires of towers in the Preventive Maintenance Process.
4. Conceptualized an effective solution to help protect deep desert macro sites against sand buildup and it's zero-cost implementation build Perimeter Sand Walls around the site at the same time sand accumulation is being cleared.
