DACS Network System Design Engineers Job

Able to work with all other Network Design Engineers and T-Mobile engineering

for NSS and BSS projects in the region.

• Understanding of NSS / BSS architecture.

• Understands how various network elements are integrated into the local network.

• Understands the impact of adding one node can cause expansions of another node to use additional DCS ports (for example: a new BSC may require a MSC port expansion. Both of which require additional DCS ports resulting in a DCS or FDP expansion).

• Able to accurately build the new node or shelf in Granite and map out each path per engineering.

• Able to confirm availability of DCS ports to assign to other engineers for NSS / BSS circuit design needs.

• Identify / assign DSX1/FDP connectivity to the DCS.

• Identify / assign any external echo canceller connections necessary for trunking needs (for example: Tellabs 3300 or 3600 systems).

• Identify / assign DCS connectivity to BITS clock. Identify / assign DCS connectivity to OSS/NMS network for TCP/IP network connectivity.

Can identify how a new DCS element impacts the MTSO as follows:

• Identify impact on DSX1 or FDP port availability.

• Identify impact on environmental systems (additional HVAC).

• Identify impact on floor space.

• Identify impact on power systems (BDFB, PDF (Ericsson) battery, generator expansions).

• Identify impact on BITS clock. DACS Network System Design Engineers Job
