21/09/2010 By http://www.tradingmarkets.com ( Source: http://www.tradingmarkets.com ) Huawei Wins 3G Networking Equipment Contracts in IndiaOne of India's largest mobile carriers Bharti Airtel announces that it has selected Ericsson, Nokia Siemens Networks and Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. as its 3G networking equipment suppliers.In an earlier bidding, Bharti Airtel won the 3G service licenses in 13 of the 22 telecommunications service regions of India. The company will grant the networking equipment contracts of seven regions to Ericsson and those of other six regions to Nokia Siemens and Huawei. The spokesperson of Bharti Airtel reveals that the three contract winners will design, build and maintain advanced HSPA+ networks in the above regions, helping their Indian partner satisfy the demand of local customers for high-speed Internet access and wireless entertainment and consolidate its leading status. The India government began allocating 3G wireless bandwidths in early September.
