Details LTE LAYER 2 PROTOCOL STACK Contract - LTE, MAC, RLC

We are looking for an experienced Protocol Stack Layer 2 RLC, MAC Developer to join our clients LTE L2 protocol development team.

The role is focused on development of high performance L2 software running in real-time tasks in a distributed, embedded hardware environment. As a member of the L2 team, you will be expected to ensure the successful resolution of technical issues, from analysis through to implementation and customer delivery.

Key Responsibilities
- Embedded C/C++ real-time software analysis, design, implementation and test.
- Acquire technical expertise of our clients new LTE enabled test system.
- Technically liaise with Marketing team/customers to understand requirements, investigate problems and negotiate solutions, providing engineering input.
- Deliver customer requested enhancements either as engineering patches or through development of core products.
- Assisting with technical contributions to the pre/post-sales process when required.
- Some travel may be required.

Skills Required

Essential
- Solid commercial full lifecycle software development experience
- Practical experience with, and knowledge of 3G (UTRAN), L2 protocols (e.g. RLC, MAC) or similar L2 protocols.
- Proven experience of programming in C.
- Practical experience with real time operating systems and toolsets.
- Practical experience of debugging embedded software running in complex real-time software systems.
- Experience with standard source code management and defect tracking tools.
- Ability to communicate effectively and appropriately with internal and external customers.

Highly Desirable
- LTE Protocol Development experience
- Practical experience with development of protocols running under VxWorks
- C++ development experience
