Our client is a world leader in the telecoms industry and are looking to hire a Digital ASIC Engineer to join them.
Skills/Experience
- Specification and design of digital electronics for low power cellular radio products including high speed mobile broadband capabilities in mobile phones.
- Capturing System requirements for definition of next generation products with regards to modems, processors (vector based) , multimedia systems and system on chip (SOC).
- Block architecture, RTL coding, simulation, synthesis and verification of Verilog/VHDL design for custom ASIC.
- Use of tools for RTL clock domain crossings, power analysis, formal verification, DFT, memory test.
- Emulation of RTL designs on FPGA development platforms to validate bus performance, end to end design and enable software development.
- Microprocessor development and in-circuit emulation using JTAG-lauterbach tools.
- Understanding of Bus & peripheral Interfaces AHB, AXI, I & Q data, RF interfaces, MIPI Interfaces, SDIO, MMC, SIM, UART. Bluetooth, USB.
- Teamworking with RF, software and systems engineering teams.
- Planning, implementation and documentation of project work.
Responsibilities
- Good understanding for cellular principles of operation GSMEGDEUMTSLTE.
- Understanding of low power digital design preferred.
- Use of VHDL/Verlilog design tools with emphasis on verification using systems verilog.
- Modem design with digital communications background highly desirable.
- Experience in either ASIC, FPGA, EPLD or other.
- Practical experience of version control tools.
- Code/Script development experience using assembler, perl, C, C++.
- Experience of low power memory devices & associated interfaces.
- Ability to learn quickly and work unsupervised or as part of a team essential.
- Experience in development of design and test specification.
- Contribution to Design reviews.
