1 Job Description

Good understanding of Standard Ericsson CS&PS switches Counters, KPI and its formula.
Understanding the definition of CS&PS Core indicators and key performance indicators.
Experienced with Ericsson Performance tool for measurement collection, scheduling, analyzing and troubleshooting.
Good understanding of Ericsson data/measurement flow from NE to OSS.
Familiar with Ericsson Measurement Data Export interface
Knowledge of Ericsson OSS Performance Database and the structure.
Experienced with Performance Management Tools (e.g. BO, SDM, ENIQ, and Metrica).
Able to use basic MML command for checking and monitoring Core measurement
Able to developed UNIX shell script & SQL Store Proc for PM data extraction
Experience of MS SQL and MS Application.
Experience of working with large databases such as Oracle, MS Sql
Good understanding about business object (query designer).
Provide recommendation for core network expansion and corrective maintenance.
Using statistics to forecast the future growth of Network
Using statistics to identify the congested parts of the Core network.

2 Responsibilities (Duties and Activities)

Day to day analysis on CS&PS switches performance by analyzing statistics.
Ensure a healthy of Core network performance by regular audits and sanity checks, using statistics from the core network during the working time and none working time for emergency escalations and checking after activities.
Analyzing Reports for performance anomalies/exceptions.
Investigating and escalating performance issues to concern department.
Producing Core Network Performance Add hoc or Special Reports.
Provide recommendation for core network expansion and corrective maintenance.
Provide recommendations for Core performance improvement.
Ability to work in multi-vendor environment.
Analyze, plan and modify network components supporting network growth.
Prepare the analysis of the short-term or long-term capacity needs for switching, routing Transmission and Signaling.
Conduct network architecture design, feasibility and cost studies.
Develop alternative routing scenarios and changes in required sequence of network activities.
Review the network elements to determine element exhaust dates and recommends.
Consider impact of network capacity plan on all interdependent network nodes.
Supports the development and deployment of network planning tools.
Frequently interacts with vendors to coordinate.
Monitor the core nodes, control system, capacity, routing and charging
Prepare the needed reports whether occasionally or periodically
3 General Competence

Bachelors Degree in Electronics & Communication, or equivalent.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
2-4 years Network Planning experience and 1-2 yrs relevant telecommunications experience.
Open approach to solving problems and dealing with new proposals.
A thorough and methodical approach to work.
High degree of analytical abilities.
4 Technical Competence

An experienced Core Network Performance Engineer with experience of supporting an Ericsson network.
GSM knowledge and experience in a similar position is a must.
The Performance Engineer will be expected to monitor the core nodes, control system, capacity, routing and charging
Must have extensive experience with Ericsson equipment.
Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Words, Access and Power pionts).
RDBMS, MS-SQL, Sybase or Oracle Database
UNIX shell script writing, debugging
Advanced knowledge of UNIX and SQL-programming
Computer Skills
