Sr. RF/Communications Systems Analyst

Exciting Wireless "Start Up" with offices in the bay area and Utah has an opportunity for a highly qualified Senior Communications Systems Analyst to help drive the definition of a new state of the art wide area wireless location, tracking and telemetry system. This opportunity is suited to an entrepreneurial individual who exhibits inspired technical leadership and who seeks to join a well-funded privately held company which will transform the wireless location, tracking and telemetry industry.

The successful candidate will be a recognized industry expert, and a technical advisor to peers, management and customers. He/She will apply their extensive expertise to creatively solve difficult and challenging problems and develop solutions, which may require extreme ingenuity and creativity, often resulting in innovative products or processes which have significant impact on clients’ business and direction. This individual will also be an effective communicator with excellent written and oral skills. He/She must be a focused individual, who is a good listener, and a team player who is able to communicate effectively to engineering, marketing, and management.

Technical Responsibilities
• Lead the RF/communications systems analysis effort
• Develop acquisition/tracking algorithms
• Develop systems simulations of the physical layer of state of the art radio systems (Matlab, C++ experience required)
• Familiarity with spread spectrum systems design and analysis required
• Analyze channel effects and develop accurate models for indoor and outdoor transmission and location performance
• Calibrate performance models to deployment tools to enable accurate modeling or system performance for proposed deployment scenarios
• Evaluate Link budget. Perform gain/noise figure/dynamic range analysis, maintain system losses (i.e. system jitter, receiver efficiency, noise figure, etc.), BER, PER, etc.
• Analyze complex coding and modulation schemes.
• Apply expert knowledge of signal processing and information theory to ensure success of the resulting radio products.
• Support all analysis efforts needed for product development

TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS
• BSEE, MSEE preferred, PhD EE a plus.
• Seven (7) plus years of applicable communications systems analysis experience required.
• Must possess strong information systems theory knowledge. Familiar with stochastic processes, working knowledge of RF, analog, digital, signal processing and wireless technologies.
