3. JOB PURPOSE
The position will be responsible for many of the operational and strategic initiatives needed to maximize revenue on the network. The position should integrate and lead Business Analytics, Market Research, Marketing Science functions to provide analytical support in forecasting usage & revenue and accordingly formulate pricing strategies for different products & services in order to deliver optimal performance.
4. JOB DESCRIPTION
1. To provide information crucial to driving top line growth in all product verticals Prepaid, Postpaid, VAS and Data.
2. Assist in the creation of executive presentations.
3. Utilize the sales data warehouse to generate revenue information for all product verticals.
4. Assist in the development and preparation of annual strategic plan (capital, financial & operational budgets), annual budget, monthly forecasts, and monthly results analysis.
5. Perform actual to budget variance analysis while highlighting risks.
6. Drive continuous improvement and standardization in reporting within the business units. Aid the development and understanding of key business unit operating metrics (ARPU, AMoU, ARPM, Termination Cost, Penetration, Marketing spending, etc.) and report performance to the established metrics.
7. Coordinate with Business Unit Heads to develop adhoc compensation tactics that best meets the goals of the business (e.g. commissions for Sale, higher margin product, etc.)
8. Provide detailed analysis of revenue by product, by region, by market back to the Business Unit Heads and ensure linkage with management reporting.
9. Report on the achievement of price, profitability and other concerns in relation to individual customers.
10. Establish effective working relationships with regional finance leaders, site controllers, and sales data warehouse group.
11. Perform special projects and ad-hoc financial reporting as required.
12. Proactive identification of revenue opportunities and risks and tailored communication of these, when pitched at different audiences.
13. To identify and maximize revenue opportunities through trend analysis and data analytics and effective forecast of future demand patterns.
14. Formulates pricing strategies (through various pricing models) for all products and services to deliver optimum revenue realization. Works in conjunction with product marketing and sales teams to analyse pricing performance of schemes and take corrective action, wherever necessary.
15. Continually identifies pricing best practices within & across industries, identifies areas for improvement and works with sales & product marketing teams to implement such changes and train people, if necessary.
16. To develop pricing options to meet competitive opportunities and provide input for profitability projections and corporate pricing strategy.
17. Identify, quantify and report revenue leakage (across products and services) highlighting revenue leakage points and recommending solutions.
18. Conducts and coordinates financial, market and operational research (both primary and secondary) to support strategic pricing, discounting and planning for the organization. Interprets and evaluates research data and determine how to incorporate within the pricing models.
19. To consistently deliver comprehensive competitor analysis and ensure that the business is fully conversant with the implications of both strategic and tactical initiatives of all key and emerging market players.
5. SKILLS, QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
1. MBA in Marketing with at least 10 years of post qualification experience.
2. Extensive experience in Data Analytics, Pricing & Revenue Modelling, Predictive Modeling & Forecasting and Business Intelligence.
3. Proficiency in spreadsheet applications (Advanced Excel), database software (Access, SQL, SAS) and PowerPoint.
4. Exposure to mathematics AND/OR statistics coursework preferred.
5. Prior experience in telecom industry must with progressively responsible work experience in the same area.
6. Ability to create structure and definition in situations that are uncertain or ambiguous.
7. Ability to adapt quickly to change and keenness to champion the advancement of planning & forecasting tools, systems and controls within the organization that will enhance management decision making.
8. Highly organized and proven ability to multi-task and perform under time pressure.
9. Process ownership and improvement experience.
10. Exhibits ability to perform the key competencies of teamwork, problem solving, innovation, resource management and flexibility.
