A great opportunity has arisen with AWCC for a General Sales Manager to develop and grow distribution channels. You will be responsible for developing the direct and indirect sales strategy and executing the strategy through a set of goals and objectives. You will lead and manage the sales function, whilst ensuring that sales, channel retention and revenue objectives are met consistently.

A sound grasp of mobile telecommunications trends is required. We would like to engage the services of an individual who has experience within the cellular or telecoms industry.

A market related base salary plus commission is on offer, in line with experience. Reports to the Sales Director.

Qualifications and Experience (minimum requirements)
Completed high school, with a suitable commercial qualification, with a minimum of 3 years executive sales management experience in the mobile or telecoms environment.
Sales and distribution strategy development and execution.
Commercial acumen, with an ability to analyse business and commercial opportunities and build distribution channels.
Hands-on experience in leading a large dispersed team of sales and support staff of at least 3 years.

Accountabilities
Develop sales strategy in line with company objectives. Set goals, objectives, set sales plan and cascade to individual team members.
Creating and developing effective and diverse direct and indirect distribution channels.
Performance Indicators 100% attainment of sales targets on a monthly basis. Determine and assign sales targets to each of the operations and channels.
Develop incentive and commission schemes that are strategic, competitive and aggressive in promoting channel partner/staff retention and sales growth.
Cultivate a disciplined sales culture through reporting, monitoring and control activities.
In conjunction with Marketing, initiate the development of new products and services.
Lead, train and mentor sales and support staff.
Collect valuable first-hand information from the markets through competitor tracking and recommend/facilitate/initiate counter action.
Develop indirect and direct channel retention strategy to keep good staff and distribution partners.
Develop retention plan through sales support and other initiatives.
Assure strong market presence and effective field teams to train, merchandise and monitor quality of distribution channels.
Evolve distribution partners to create the right mix of distribution and assure cost effective logistics and complete coverage of the markets.
Assure easy and convenient access for all products and services where and when the customer wants them - availability, accessibility and visibility.
Develop and implement sales channel training strategy.
Regularly interact with Marketing and other divisions to further communication and cooperation.
Stay abreast of telecommunications industry trends.
