Position duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to
Asst. Manager RF Planning is for design and performance aspects of GSM/2G/2.5G. Solid background in telecommunication fundamentals and technology evolution in-depth understanding of 2G and 2.5 G wireless technologies, related standards and interworking of 2G. Possess high level of understanding of networking concepts (such as ATM, IP, Ethernet, routers, etc.).
Qualified individual must have strong communication and organizational skills. An individual contributor and a technical leader, acts as a mentor and provides training/coaching to less experienced engineers. Position requires that the engineer is a self starter and acts independently under very general direction on complex system performance challenges, equipment/RF troubleshooting and problem resolution, project management and vendor interface. Present ideas, proposals and guidelines to peers, market management and executives, in an effective way. The position will also require the candidate to work/support special projects and field studies, document/communicate project status or trial results, with an objective to deliver RAN performance, improve standards and processes, while helping to develop best practices. The engineer will develop recommendations that will help market achieve corporate performance initiatives.
The engineer understands, adheres to and strives towards achieving corporate/market RAN performance objectives and standards. The engineer will be responsible for maintaining/Improving market RAN performance. Tasks include, mainly but not limited to the following
Responsibilities
Radio Network planning , Design and optimization
Assurance of high quality of radio design to achieve team objectives
Special radio projects
Leading the radio planning team as per assignment
Reporting to RF Planning and Optimization Manager
Handling special events handling traffic
Teaching and coaching the engineers in the team
Duties
To design network based on marketing requirements for new coverage and Optimization requirements for Densification.
Supervision and monitoring of field surveys, site design and delivery of reports maintaining time and quality.
To coordinate with other departments to meet the rollout schedule providing site design and other relevant documents.
To keep track of progress of radio network design activities and to maintain radio network design data base
To prepare schedule for site survey and draft visit for engineers.
To produce coverage map and calculate area & population covered in respect to sites on air.
Handling radio design special project
Automatic & Manual frequency planning
Neighbour planning and optimization of neighbour plan to improve radio quality and eliminate interference
Periodic inconsistency checks between planned & OMC data for both frequency and neighbour plan
Lead a team of frequency planners to achieve the team objectives
Perform the required extension or frequency changes by optimization team.
Addition of capacity extension to cope with growing traffic
Planning radio network as per business requirement Radio Capacity Planning -TRX addition , TRX re-deployment ,Traffic balancing and re-balancing, Cabinet Expansions, In-fill Capacity Sites, Nominal Tracking, Justification and Case Approval Utilization tracking of in-fill sites for AT process monitoring plan) In-fill Efficiency tracking.
Analysing Network information for strategy
Process for Import Data directly from OSS , Parse data through pre-set / pre-defined processes & Generate trends
Regular interaction with vendors for RF design of the GSM Network
Site Proposals / Clearance & Network Optimization Nominal Cell Plan, Site survey, Drive test route finalization, propagation model tuning and drive test skills.
GSM RF network optimization
Preparation of RF Planning and optimizing guidelines
Preparing months and adhering to RF KPIs for GSM network
RFP Evaluation
Qualifications
Bachelor\'s degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering or equivalence, should have 4 to 6 six years relevant working experience. In depth technical understanding of GSM protocols and call flows, KPIs and Counters. Experienced in voice and data performance optimization. Knowledge of Siemens GSM BSS/NSN flexi ( RG10) and related OSS tools. Excellent analytical skill, understand the key issues in the GSM network. Familiar with design, drive test and post-processing tools, such as TEMS, Actix, Optimi, etc. Good project management skills. Develop and coordinate the assigned projects, provide updates, communicate and escalate issues, and drive for solutions.
