WLAN Certification Testing Specialist - Research In Motion
Locations Rolling Meadows, IL or Waterloo, ON
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Masters degree in Computer Science / Computer Engineering / Telecommunications / Electrical Engineering
5+ years experience in the software development and/or software testing of wireless networks or mobile devices (i.e. GSM, WCMDA, CDMA, LTE, Wi-Fi)
2+ years experience in the development and/or testing of 802.11 Wireless Local Area Networks and/or WLAN modules on mobile devices
In depth knowledge of 802.11 a/b/g/n protocols
Very good understanding of compliance test processes and test case requirements related to WFA, WAPI, etc.
In depth understanding of IP networks
Experience with test equipment set up, troubleshooting and maintenance
Strong technical skills and great attention to detail
Methodical approach and ability to adhere to and develop stringent test processes and methods
Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
Good communication skills and ability to work closely with team leaders and members of other groups to drive projects to completion
Must be able to represent the company in a professional manner, and be able to handle dynamic situations at partner labs and industry events
ADDITIONAL ASSETS
Ability to write or modify scripts in a variety of languages (Tcl/Tk, perl, Python, C++, C-Shell)
Experience with automated test equipment, network traffic generation, performance and analysis test tools (Azimuth, Sigma, OmniPeek, WireShark, PacketStorm, IXIA, IxVoice, etc.)
