POSITION SUMMARY

The candidate will be part of a team focused on the integration and development of leading-edge radio protocol stack software. You will be responsible for the integration, investigation, debug and development of the NAS / AS (Non Access Stratum (MM, CC, LLC etc.) / Access Stratum (RLC, MAC, RRC)) components of a GSM / GPRS / EGPRS / UMTS multi-RAT platform. Being technically strong in either NAS or AS with a desire and ability to work in the other area would make for a good candidate. The team\'s goal is to produce a robust high quality product and support it through certification, carrier acceptance and onto customer deployment

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum five (5) years experience in mobile communications development particularly in the areas of NAS / AS
Prior experience in the design and development of current wireless technologies, particularly GSM / GPRS / EDGE and WCDMA / HSPA
Minimum 3 years of experience in real time embedded software development
Strong C programming and debugging skills
Excellent knowledge with wireless systems, standards specifications and related industry issues
Experience using commercial protocol stack test equipment
Committed to work on all aspects of product development as a strong team member
The ideal candidate will have practical experience of deploying a dual-mode handset and be able to significantly contribute to the program in the areas of performance, quality and robustness required from a market leading handheld. The successful candidate will also use their detailed knowledge of the relevant 3GPP specifications to ensure compliance as appropriate
University degree in an Engineering or Computer Science discipline
Experience with inter-rat system handovers
