SUMMARY
Our client is seeking a Vice President to lead the teams developing their radio products and new electrical products. This role will have general management responsibility for leading an experienced team of professionals. It will also be critical to build the team to support a high-growth strategy. In the near term, the focus will be on working with the existing leadership of the radio team, to build the internal and external resources required to execute a high growth strategy. In the longer term, the focus is on working with the existing team to set the vision for the future, as well as building our client\'s ability to enter new product categories outside radios.
Functions reporting in to this position include product development, product management, and supply chain management. This position will also have significant influence over marketing, purchasing, quality, and distribution of these products. This role has overall ownership for the P&L, strategy, staffing, execution, and results for a business category. This is a key leadership role for the company and it is important to have both the ability to successfully manage the business and the ability to lead the people in the business. Development of human capital and upholding cultural norms are critical aspects of the role.
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Lead the team to set a vision, implement appropriate strategies, and clearly articulate them. Use consumer, customer, technology, and competitive trends to drive category strategies that set clear visions for how to grow the business. Drive innovation consistent with the category goals.
2. Lead development of the organization to enable delivery of the strategy. Build up the existing team to increase depth in project management, RF/electronics development, quality control, and supply chain to get ahead of the needs of a fast growing business. In the long term, build up a team to execute new development projects outside the radio business, and incubate these businesses to get them launched to the market.
3. Support the existing radio team and leadership, to enable them to achieve the strategic vision, build the necessary resources for execution, and continue to deliver outstanding innovative products.
4. Improve performance on project execution to ensure on time, on cost, on quality results.

7. Maintain technical familiarity with products
8. Drive a passionate, enthusiastic culture that thrives on developing the best products for all consumers.
9. Mentor the employees on the team to ensure their continued career growth.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
1- Minimum 8-10 years business leadership experience in a fast paced, high growth environment in a technically oriented company. Experienced at leading product development, project management, supply chain management, and quality. Demonstrated track record of bringing products to market, managing product lines, and making good business decisions.
2- Demonstrated ability to define organizational structures to be aligned with strategic goals, and recruit an outstanding team of people to create the capacity to achieve a vision.
3- Proven ability to build effective professional relationships and communicate effectively at all levels of an organization (from senior management to front line teams).
4- Proven ability to integrate with a very technical product development team and be able to speak their language. Must have experience collaborating successfully with technical functions and understanding technical products.
5- Experience managing large teams of people in a fast-paced complex organization required. Experience managing department managers and holding them accountable for delivering their team\'s objectives also required. Must have demonstrated the ability to balance delivery of business results with doing business the right way to deliver both simultaneously.
6- Experience mentoring and coaching future leaders of the business, to grow the skills of the management team.
7- Experience managing vendor relationships, building vendor management systems, and putting quality systems in place.
8- BS degree in Engineering preferred. MBA or other business training also preferred. Background with RF products preferred.
9- Interest in the radio industry preferred. Prior experience in development and manufacturing of electronic, or electromechanical products strongly preferred.
