Project Installation Planning Engineer (Optical), Site Solutions, is responsible for Designing installation layouts and configurations applicable to CORE Systems showing the positioning of racks and support systems including overhead ladder, under floor cable management systems, power, ground communications cabling and specific connection configurations from point A to Point B. Creating Bills-of-Material supporting said configurations as well as the supporting engineered design layouts/configurations. Providing recommended solutions to specific customer requests, problems, or services. These may include not only Nokia Siemens applications, but can and should include other vendor auxiliary/ancillary equipments and systems. Special focus should be on Optical Fiber configurations employing the latest in designs and solutions. Additional focus should also be on Nokia Siemens transport facilities, e.g., Surpass DSL, VDSL, and Optical Gigabit system applications. Working for the Nokia Siemens Account teams and/or assigned Program/Project Managers alone, or in an attached relationships with other Project Planning Engineers in a Project team, to design Installation of Nokia Siemens CORE Network Elements and any and all third party equipments determined as required for that particular project. Engineer is also responsible for ensuring work is carried out according to applicable standards, i.e., ANSI, ISO, Telcordia, Nokia Siemens, National Electric Code and Canadian Standards Association Codes against a customer time/cost/quality criteria, and Nokia Siemens Project Operating procedures. This engineer will also be expected to fulfil the duties of the Civil Works basic layout and design, if required by the scope of the project to which he/she is assigned. This engineer is expected to employ forward thinking cost efficiencies by employing the latest engineering techniques and enhancements to insure the best possible product for Nokia Siemens customers.
Key TasksUsing, updating and checking material content in project tools and infrastructure systems, e.g., e-Tracker. Supporting the PD/Account Team/PM in updating Roll-out schedules as a representative of Site Solutions, and/or as an expert of Telecom Implementation activitiesProvide Site Solutions input to project preparation, perform as a member of the start-up team in customising Nokia Site solutions during the Project ramp-up phase Co-ordinating and providing engineering support for Account Team sales and the Project Manager during project preparation period In a \'turnkey\' project - provide CW and Implementation Project Installation Engineering to ensure that work is carried out according applicable standards and supports customer time/cost/quality requirements in-accordance-with applicable operating procedures and work instructions Monitor and advise on Civil Works, as required, as well as the Implementation Project Engineering functions. Work key issues and support performance indicators where required. Report results to PD/Account Team/PM or Contract/Partner Manager as required. Propose and take necessary corrective actions

Experience2-4 years\' implementation experience in (a) Planning and/or field management in telecommunication projects or (b) site design & construction work in telecommunication projects. Understanding of Nokia Siemens\' delivery process and different product and site processes. Ability to work in multinational environment and in customer interface. Ability to manage subordinates.
