Details A hands-on development role, working in the team involved in the design and development of a 3G /2.5G /2G handset inter-operability tester. The role is focused on the 3GPP WCMDA air-interface and signalling protocols.

As a member of the team, you will be expected to help to ensure the successful resolution of technical issues, from analysis through to implementation and customer delivery.

Key Responsibilities: Design and development of non-embedded software in ‘C/C++’ Analysis of 3GPP UTRAN and GERAN specifications Development of software implementing UTRAN/GERAN L1/L2/L3 signalling protocols

Development of enabling applications such as video streaming Assisting with technical contributions to the pre-sales process Assisting with 2nd-line technical support

Skills Required:

Essential:

- 3 years commercial full-lifecycle software development experience

- 3 years experience of programming in C/C++

- Proven track record of expertise in large, complex real-time/near real-time software systems

- Pro-active problem solver

- Able to work to tight timescales, resolving conflicting priorities and requirements

- Effective communication and team-working skills

Highly Desirable:

- Expertise in 3GPP lower-layer signalling protocols, e.g. RRC, RLC/MAC for 3G (UTRAN) or GSM/EDGE

- Development of software for implementing layers 1 to 3 of the OSI communication model
