POSITION SUMMARY

The successful candidate will be a member of the Memory Development Team, which is responsible for integration and validation of all the memory components on RIMs platforms. As part of the team, the candidate will work with hardware designers to develop driver software and test routines to exercise certain memory functions in the memory device. The successful candidate will be responsible for all software modification required to get the memory running in a system and to validate its operation.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The successful candidates responsibilities will include

Development and maintenance of a memory test OS (a subset of the blackberry OS)
Memory test development
Memory Component driver development/modification
Communication memory component software requirements to the OS team
Reviewing OS drivers to make sure that they compliant with the memory component specs
Providing the test software necessary to handoff the memory design to the product an sustaining teams
Writing scripts and applications to ease debug of memory bus activity

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

University degree in Engineering, or Computer Science, or related experience
Minimum 4 years of experience in embedded software design and development in C or C++
Experience with low level debugging using JTAG, a logic analyzer and/or an oscilloscope
Proven ability to read and understand hardware component specifications
Test software development experience
Demonstrate ability to take initiative and the ability to quickly adapt to new situations and constraints
Strong multitasking skills with a team player orientation

ADDITIONAL ASSETS

Experience working with mobile DRAM and/or Flash memory components (NAND or managed NAND)
Experience developing drivers for memory components
Mobile Hardware experience
RTOS development experience
Java Development experience
