Rapidly growing Mobile Sensor Products and Services Company located in San Diego is acting to expand its Engineering organization with the addition of a Senior HW Engineer with at least 10 years of experience and a strong background in the development of high-volume low-cost wireless telecommunications products and mentoring of Digital Engineering staff. This exciting opportunity requires close interaction with a skilled team of RF engineers, embedded and applications software engineers, mechanical engineers, test engineers, and project managers. Effective communication skills, flexibility, a strong teamwork approach, and the desire to work in a fast-paced environment are necessary for success. A BSEE is required, MSEE preferred. The company offers a competitive salary, fun work environment and fringe benefits. We will relocate a great candidate, but candidates must be permanent residents of the US and eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications:
* BSEE with 10+ years of hardware design experience or equivalent years of experience.
* Solid understanding of wireless and mobile technologies.
* Experienced in digital (discrete, microprocessor, microcontroller, DSP, FPGA, etc.) design, prototyping, implementation, debugging, characterization testing and performance testing.
* Experience in design for mixed-technology environment (digital/R.F.)
* Background in designing for signal integrity, EMI considerations, thermal effects, environmental requirements, power, and regulatory considerations.
* Background in wireless sensor modules and systems.
* Experience developing products utilizing one or more of the following technologies: WLAN, GPS, Bluetooth, CDMA/1xRTT, EDGE, GPRS, WiFi, WiMAX, and/or Zigbee.
* Knowledgeable of and developed products to meet, UL/CSA, FCC, and ANSI regulatory testing.
* Proficient with engineering software
* Component sourcing and BOM creation.
* Excellent oral and written communications skills combined with the ability to effectively communicate technical issues.
* Strong background in product development lifecycle.
* Excellent problem solving, logic and analytical skills.
* Demonstrated leadership and mentoring of other Digital Engineering staff.
The following qualifications are highly desired:
* MSEE.
* Demonstrated Engineering project leadership experience.
* Ability to code firmware to test basic design functionality, without the aid of a dedicated firmware engineer. |
