Scope of Work

Engineering support for Commissioning, Integration, System Acceptance Testing (SAT), and lab testing (as directed by NSN or Operator) of Nokia-Siemens Networks CS Core Network elements (MSS and MGW). These engineering resources must have experience in test, turn up and integration of NSN CS Core products in a customer environment. Specific tasks will include: Commissioning, reconfiguring, and troubleshooting of MSS and MGW and Integration of the CS Core (includng Fault isolation and resolution, NSN HLR Integration, OSS/NetAct/Advantage Commander Integration, NSN and Huawei RAN Integration, Interoperability Testing (IOT) with customer vendors (Huawei, Cisco, HP), Iu Flex (Inter-MSO integration), and MOCN (inter-Operator integration).

Brief Description of works:

Commissioning, Integration, System Acceptance Testing (SAT) and Engineering support for NSN CS Core elements at customer MSO and /or Lab facilities.

Completion of MSS and MGW NSN Site Folder Documentation and Test Logs for Commissioning and Integration as required.

Jointly working with NSN Customer reps on jointly, pre-agreed System Acceptance Testing, documentation and test logs.

Implementation of S/W and or H/W upgrades to equipment as required.

Interoperability Testing (IOT) and Engineering support for Customer vendors as required.

Providing timely daily status reports of progress and issues to NSN Project Management team.

Task Details:

Commissioning: (MSS/MGW at certain locations may already have been commissioned):

Pre-check will include validating interbay cabling, verifying switch settings, seating of plug in units into the backplane, verifying cabinet ground and power before turn up. Perform power up of MSS and MGW. Verify functionaility of all components and Plug In Unit’s (PIU’s). Troubleshoot and isolate any faults/alarms encountered. (Commissioner is responsible for completion of fault reports and submitting faulty components to NSN Hardware Services for replacement). Commissioner will complete commissioning of MSS and MGW per the guidleines defined in the NSN Site Folders. Commissioner will perform any H/W and S/W upgrades as directed. Commissioner will load the NSN provided Datafill.

Integration:

Work with NSN’s Customer Reps to bring up, establish communication with, and test the MSS and MGW external interfaces.

Troubleshoot with the customer and assist in isolating any faults/alarms encountered with these interfaces. Commissioner

will complete integration of MSS and MGW per the guidleines outlined in the NSN Site Folders.

Systems Acceptance Testing (SAT):

Work with NSN’s Customer Rep’s to perform joint System Acceptance Testing of the MSS and MGW as required to achieve Network element acceptance. NSN and Customer have mutually agreed on the contents of testing. Ensure functionality of all test cases, and troubleshoot and isolate any faults encountered.

Lab Testing:

Work with the NSN Customer Rep’s to perform Lab Testing for the MSS and MGW as required to achieve Lab Acceptance. NSN and Customer have mutually agreed on the contents of testing. Ensure functionality of all test cases, and troubleshoot and isolate any faults encountered.

Reporting:

Daily reports will be provided to Nokia-Siemens Networks at all stages, including Commissioning, Integration and System Acceptance Testing.
