Description of Engineer:

• Engineering degree,
• Very good understanding of 3GPP specifications relevant to PS Domain.
• 5-10 years of experience in the PS Domain.
• Experience with NSN SGSN and/or Ericsson GGSN.
• Very good experience with Routing concepts and IP Protocols.
• Good knowledge of Shell scripting.
• Fluent in English (reading & writing)

Scope of Work:

• Troubleshooting all PS related customer problems received through customer care.
• Raise & Follow up Trouble reports with vendors for necessary problem escalation.
• Creation of new APN requests as received from Marketing and/or Sales.
• Ensuring a smooth transition between PS Core Planning and Operations covering areas such as -
o Equipment provisioning
o Day to day changes
o External Interface Implementations (such as Application Segments, Management Segments, etc.)
o New Implementations within the domain.
• Coordination with VAS Planning/Operations for rollout of new applications or changes to existing applications.
• Solid Project Management experience relevant to migrating PS Core from 2G to 3G.
• Very good experience of Performance and Optimization of Packet Systems in different scenarios.
• Day to day operations coordination activities with Regional OMC & Maintenance teams.
• Constantly exploring new ideas for increasing operational effeciency.
• Follow up all alarms generated within the PS Domain regularly to detect hardware or software issues. Capable of analysing the logs and show/debug outputs of routers, switches, SGSN, GGSN and other machines within PS Domain.
• Provide support to the network and security projects carried by IT Network team of Vodafone.
• Planning and execution of tests together with other Vodafone Teams before implementing it in the live network.
• Be on-site in critical temporary works and analyze the problems that may occur.
• Provide consultancy in the area of general Network structures.
• Provide support in design and configuration changes for the requirements that arise in Vodafone Network Infrastructure.
