Job Role: RF Engineer
Reporting To: US Trials Manager
Functional Area: Professional Services (Customer Trials)
Location: Atlanta

The Professional Services team is responsible for 3G Programme trials on the ip.access Femtocell product from initiation through to planned pilots.

Working with the US Trials Manager based in Redmond (Seattle) the prime objective of the Professional Services RF Engineer is to act as a Subject Matter Expert on RF issues in the field encountered during deployment of the IPA 3G Femto Product

They will also be working closely with the prime contractor and operator to ensure that complex RF issues are triaged appropriately and provide detailed analysis back to the UK development team for timely resolution.

Based at our current customer site in Atlanta, this role will require travel to customer sites throughout the US and abroad as required for future trials.

Accountabilities:

 Trouble shoot complex RF issues to a level of detail to provide sufficient and relevant information in trouble tickets so that UK based development engineers can recreate issues and find the problem efficiently
 Conduct field trials with the customer in Atlanta
 Report RF analysis and results to the US Trials Manager
 Raise trouble tickets for RF issues found during field trials
 Ensure equipment needed to conduct RF testing and analysis is available

Role Requirements:

 Excellent knowledge of mobile telecoms products with at least 1+ year\'s \"hands on\" experience of working on 3G Radio Theory and Principles.
 Excellent knowledge of UMTS air interface technology.
 Familiar with UMTS deployment aspects such as spectrum planning, coverage,
 Familiar with RF testing and optimization tools such as TEMS, NEMO, etc.
 Experienced in conducting field RF measurements and analyzing measurement data.
 Ability to perform interference analysis between femtocells and macro network.
 Ability to recommend 3G RF parameter settings in the femtocell based on field measurements and analysis.
