Idealpeople are delighted to be working with the 'World Leader' in next generation wireless technology. This award-winning firm are expanding aggressively in Europe, and are poised to become the 'One Stop Shop' for Mobile Operators and 'Smartphone' manufacturers.
This position will be based within the division that creates next generation 2G & 3G chipsets, system software, development tools and products.
Reporting to Hardware Manager, you will be responsible for block level architecture system design for both RF and Baseband. Specification and design of digital electronics for low power cellular radio products including mobile TV broadcast capabilities in mobile phones Microprocessor development and in-circuit emulation using JTAG-Lauterbach tools.
You will also be heavily involved in analogue/digital design including memory system, power supply, CPU, audio, battery systems. RF design capability including some or all of the following RX front end, PLL's, TX chain and PA's. Understanding and use of Interfaces I & Q data. MPEG2, ASI, TSIF, MDDI, SDIO, MMC, SIM, IRDA, Bluetooth, USB as well as the creation of test specification and implementation of test plans for design verification and low-level embedded software development (C, C++)
To be considered, you must have a good understanding of the principles of cellular (GSM\EGDE\UMTS\) operation, RF design for cellular covering LNA's, mixers, PA's, TX and RX line ups, and Phase locked Loops. An understanding of mobile broadcast technologies desirable as well as digital schematic design for low power CPU/DSP based systems and experience with ARM processors and relevant JTAG debug tools desirable.
The ideal candidate will also have experience of various low power memory devices & associated interfaces, analogue design for PSU, battery management, acoustics for hand portable products coupled with experience on schematic CAD systems, Multi-layer PCB, SMT, design for EMC/ESD, development of design and test specification procedures, contribution to Design reviews, development of project plans, monitoring and control of activities.
