Job Description:

Project Manager - Engineering
Position Purpose:

This position leads and executes cross-functional national, regional and market initiatives in support of the T-Mobile engineering network. This role contributes to T-Mobile\'s success by collaboratively building and improving the wireless network and/or products and services. Key responsibilities include leading/developing a team of Engineering and operational personnel in cross-functional initiatives to build and/or improve the engineering network. This often requires technical knowledge surrounding the introduction of new technologies. The projects are both technical & non-technical.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The project manager provides oversight for the following activities. Other duties may be assigned.

Provides formal project reviews with Team Members and key stakeholders to successfully deliver projects.

Leads cross-functional initiatives and teams from concept through operation to acceptance.

Provides formal project reviews with stakeholders to perform ongoing assessments on the progress of Engineering Projects.

Establishes and nurtures internal working relationships across the enterprise to foster the development of cross-functional teamwork.

Manage and develop the Project Schedule using latest techniques.

Manage Project Capital Costs.

Identify Risks in Projects and use proven PM techniques to assess and mitigate.

Manage the delivery of the Project Scope and proposed Scope changes.

Prepare Status reports to accurately depict the stage & progress of the project.

Able to prepare an Earned Value evaluation of the project progress.

Scope of Leadership Responsibilities: Manages Project delivery with Regional, Market & Field Services Center Engineering teams.

Minimum Required Skills / Competencies:


A minimum of 7 years project management experience

Career shows progression in responsibility, size and complexity of projects managed.

Demonstrated ability to manage large nationally distributed project teams.

Must possess successful project management as well as experience in process engineering.

Demonstrated ability to forecast, manage and deliver financially successful projects.

Engineering background in the area of Telecommunications with Wireless Telecommunications considered a valuable asset.

Requires excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Project 2000.

Bachelor\'s degree (B. A.) from four-year college/university or equivalent work experience required.

Project Management Certifications (preference for PMP) are recognized.
