2G Construction Manager - 12 Months Contract

Job Description:

This position contributes to the achievement of T-Mobile’s strategic, time line and financial objectives in the planned deployment of communications equipment on specified T-Mobile communication sites.

The position reports to the Development Manager 3, with direct interface with other T-Mobile Departments, Managers, Contractors,Vendors, Employees and Project Managers. There is cross-functional interface with T-Mobile RF and Operations staff and with the T-Mobile UMTS deployment teams. In addition, the position provides strategic input and oversight to the site deployment process, including interface with the designated ‘turn-key’ or outsourced vendor and its vendors.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Oversee construction aspect of site planning and construction in support of Final RFDS and Final Statement of Work

Supervise and coordinate all aspects of the construction process including Architect and Engineer related activities and site layout requirements;
Coordinate activities and requirements of all other Company disciplines related to site construction during the construction process including but not limited to, site acquisition, radio frequency engineering, operations, and zoning personnel requirements;
Oversee BOM submission process and ensure contractors work product is complete
Obtain a construction schedule from Contractors/General Contractors and monitor construction progress according to the schedule. Provide weekly schedule updates to Company with explanations for any deviations from agreed upon schedule;
Schedule and coordinate pre-bidding activities with Company designated Contractors/General Contractors and hold a pre-construction meeting with the nominated General Contractor and all other parties as directed by the Company;
Conduct site visits following the commencement of site construction (not including pre-construction site walks) to verify contractor compliance with permits, drawings and Company specifications;
Monitor Construction for compliance with plans and applicable building codes;
Perform work in accordance with Company’s standards, policies and procedures and at the direction of the Development Manager or his\\her designee;
Provide written weekly status reports in Company database on all projects assigned in a format acceptable to the Company;
Attend Status meetings and report on the status of all assigned projects.

Minimum Required Skills / Competencies:

MS Office
Wireless Construction / Development Project experience, minimum 5 years.
Review and Understand Construction Drawing,
Knowledge of Federal, State and Local Building Codes

Preferred skills:

Strong Excel and Database Skills, Safety Monitoring, Field Quality Audits

Shift / scheduled hours:

Normal Business Hours

Need seasoned and self motivated Construction Manager with professional standards of conduct and work. Dress is business casual. Must be able to work in an office environment and have good writing skills.
