Sony Ericsson is seeking a RF Hardware Test Technician to join our team within the Research and Development Organization. This role specializes in prototype testing of the GSM, EGPRS, WCDMA, and RF performance measurements of our mobile phones. The primary focus of tasks will be the test and validation of transmitter and receiver paths of mobile phones under development. In addition you will assist in the development and support of Automated Test Equipment. You will also be responsible for the organization and preparation of the data you collect from your testing. In this role you will be required to solder and build design modifications into prototype units.
Other Duties and Responsibilities include:
* Perform RF conducted test measurements through both automated and manual test means.
* Support the development and maintenance of hardware and software for all Automated Test Equipment.
* Troubleshoot mobile phone hardware, software, automated test software, and data acquisition.
* Analyze raw RF data as well as automated output in order to identify compliance status, problems, changes in performance, and metric deficiencies.
* Install/solder Design modifications into prototype units.
* Handling and management of data for storage, reporting, and presenting.
* Work within all areas of Development test group as needed for backup and test support.
Required Skills and Abilities
* A basic understanding of RF principles, test equipment, and test methodologies preferred with focus on GSM, WCDMA..
* 2-5 years experience within test, verification, or validation environment.
* 2-5 years experience with electrical hardware test equipment and common practice methodology.
* Working knowledge of LabView Automation Software
* Knowledge of mobile telephony standards such as 3GPP, GCF, PTCRB and CTIA a plus.
* Proficient with all MS Office applications. MS Word and Excel a must.
* Candidate must be thorough, detailed oriented, accurate, and have good organizational skills.
* Candidate must have a *hands on* and *what ever it takes* approach to all tasks.
* Candidate must have a team spirit, maintain flexibility in support of team, and be able to multi-task across all Design test areas.
* Expert soldering skills are a must.

Describe minimum education requirements:
* Associate of Science or Applied Science Degree with concentration in Electronics, or equivalent with minimum of two years of industry experience.
