Our client is seeking a person to take the lead design role for complex analogue integrated circuits on CMOS and BiCMOS processes for RF applications. The role includes both driving and contributing to the specification and design of analogue ASICs and guiding, at a technical level, other members of the team. You will reports to the Analogue ASICs Group Leader.

The Wireless Business Unit applies standards-based radio solutions and also develops custom solutions for a wide range of applications principally in the telecommunications, healthcare, consumer goods and automotive areas. In addition to design services the Company also develops proprietary intellectual property, which it licences to its clients. Examples include an implantable medical radio architecture, DECT and Bluetooth reference designs.

In this role you will:
Take a lead role in preparing specifications for analogue IC functions, taking the wider view of the product and application requirements and converting them into silicon solutions.
Be capable of defining the most suitable analogue system design/architecture to meet a specification.
Take the lead role in the detailed design of analogue ASICs.
Where appropriate, create novel design solutions that will be of particular interest to our clients.
Act as a design mentor to more junior members of staff.
Work as part of a close-knit, multi-disciplinary project team focussed on delivering the design solution to our client.
Participate in sales meetings with clients to understand their requirements and demonstrate the Company's capability.
Where appropriate prepare and contribute to proposals and quotations.
Contribute to the maintenance and development of our CAD systems to enhance our development capability.

Minimum requirements
With at least 7 years' experience working as an analogue/RFIC designer for a company in the telecommunications or other relevant area, you will have extensive and essential experience of analogue RF circuit and system design. You will also ideally be familiar with systemsystem level issues in radio ICs with ability to analyse the performance of systems when implemented on real life semiconductor processes.

A good knowledge of IC CAD tools is needed as well a proven record of getting designs 'right first time.' Our ideal candidate would specifically have experience one or more of:
Synthesiser and PLL design, ADC design, LNA design.

This position is based in Cambridgeshire.
