Details GSM/UMTS Mobile Phone Test Engineer Job – AGPS/GPS

This position involves being part of an established test team responsible for functional and system testing of GSM Mobile phones utilizing GSM/GPRS/EDGE/UMTS systems. The candidate must be available and willing to work outside of normal business hours. The main objective of this position will be to support all aspects of GPS and A-GPS testing and test development. Testing will be performed using Network Simulation equipment as well as the live cellular network.

A good understanding of GPS and Assisted-GPS concepts.
Familiarity with mobile phone applications including: GPS Navigation, Location Based Services, PS data, MMS, SMS, Streaming services, eMail, Java, etc.
Setup and configuration of test equipment (GSM network simulators, and protocol analyzers, satellite simulators)
Utilize Test equipment to execute network simulated tests: (R&S CRTU-W, CRTU-G, CMU 200, SMU 200, Spirent ULTS, Agilent)
Perform initial analysis of problems found and report faults using fault tracking tools like ClearQuest
A good understanding of GSM/GPRS/EDGE/UMTS and Telecommunication networks
Thorough understanding of GSM/UMTS 3GPP Test Specifications
Ability to interpret GSM/UMTS protocol message traces and use them to diagnose problems
An understanding of Test Case execution and management tools (Mercury Quality Center)


GSM/UMTS Mobile Phone Test Engineer Job

This position involves being part of an established test team responsible for functional and system testing of GSM and WCDMA Mobile phones. The candidate must be available to work hours outside of normal business hours on occasion. Primary task will be protocol verification between Mobile and Wireless Network. Previous mobile phone protocol testing desired.

Setup and configuration of test equipment (GSM / WCDMA network simulators, and protocol analyzers)
Utilize Test equipment to execute network simulated tests (RACAL, Anite/SAS, Agilent, Anritsu)
Perform initial analysis of problems found and report faults using fault tracking tools like ClearQuest
Ability to work independently, and within a team, with little guidance
A good understanding of GSM/GPRS/EDGE/UMTS and Telecommunication networks
Thorough understanding of GSM/UMTS 3GPP Test Specifications
Previous Engineering Job working experience
Experience writing test specifications, test procedures
Ability to interpret GSM/UMTS protocol message traces and use them to diagnose problems
An understanding of Test Case execution and management tools (Mercury Quality Center)
