Our clients are leading providers of consulting and implementation support services for command, control, and communications systems used in the intelligent transportation, public transit, public infrastructure, and public safety/homeland security marketplaces.
We are seeking experienced, self-motivated professionals to provide RF engineering consulting services within city, county, public safety and law enforcement operational environments. Experience with VoIP highly desirable.
Public Safety RF and Network Engineering Consultants are required to analyze telecom and RF systems and operations methodologies, assess user needs, model information flow(s), develop alternative conceptual system designs, identify costs, perform trade-off analysis, prepare procurement specifications and supporting RFP material, evaluate vendor solutions, manage implementations, validate testing results, and orchestrate system and user migration.
Typical projects require that the Consultant exercise proficiency in formalized project management methods, including planning and scheduling cost control risk and change order management scope, schedule, budget, and quality management project staffing status reporting in the customer required formats.
Position responsibilities and desired experience include
P25 or digital and/or conventional and trunked voice and data radio systems including SmartNet and Simulcast
Fixed RF networks
RF data networks (Smart Mesh)
Automated Meter Reading (AMR IEEE 802.15.4)
GPS tracking and location
RF propagation and planning tools (MapInfo)
RF propagation engineering for both analog and digital communications systems
Point-to-point and point-to-multipoint microwave radio systems
Private and commercial wide-area mobile data systems or services
FCC regulatory issues associated with private voice and data systems
Termination facilities and ancillary systems
Support systems such as back-up generators, battery and UPS backup power communication equipment shelters, and tower structures
Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) Systems and related subsystems and applications
Requirements
A thorough understanding of RF propagation and experience with propagation modeling.
Definitive experience with public safety RF and telecom applications with city, county, state, federal and military entities.
Successful applicants must have excellent oral, writing, presentation and interpersonal skills,
Minimum bachelors degree or equivalent technical and education experience as a senior RF engineer, senior LMR technician or field engineer. EXPERIENCED MOTOROLA, KENWOOD, EADS, DANIELS, EFJOHNSON AND MIDLAND MOBILE RADIO PROFESSIONALS PLEASE APPLY
