Details Based in Akron, OH and under direct supervision, the Technical Support Engineer-I will provide technical information and support in the selling of assigned products working directly with both customers and internal resources. In addition, the selected candidate will assist the customer and/or sales channel in providing the best technical solution for the customer.

Responsibilities
Provide technical support and guidance to customer inquiries in accordance with established standards. Follow up with customer product support requests as needed.
Field general questions about Connectivity Solutions products and related services. Confidently address customer questions about general product capabilities, specifications, part numbers and general application guidelines.
Advise customers regarding the proper configuration and operation of company products.
Recreate issues using similar equipment and network environment.
Collect debug logs, infrastructure logs, and RF traces to provide to engineering.
Maintain customer support records as required in the specified tracking software.
Continue to improve work skills to ensure Laird competitiveness in a dynamic global business environment.
Interview customers to collect complete information regarding the technical aspects of their application as it relates to support issues. Consult with other subject matter experts within the organization when discussing more difficult applications to ensure the best solution is selected.
Provide new product recommendations as discovered by dealing with customer issues with a view to increase sales and uncover new business objectives.
Make outbound calls to customers in response to incoming support requests.
Assist in maintaining Salesforce.
May require minimal travel to customer sites in support of issue resolution.
Adheres to quality and safety systems or maintenance of quality and safety standards.
Prepares and submits reports to management as needed or requested.
Performs other duties as requested.
Requirements
Experience in Linux, Windows, Android and IOS environments (preferred)
Experience with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and/or RF communications desired
Excellent time management and organizational skills
Ability to learn and maintain product knowledge of all new and existing Laird Technologies Connectivity Solutions products
Ability to multi-task a must
Ability to conduct a needs assessment to determine accurate understanding of customer requests
Good communication skills, both oral and written
Attention to detail a must
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Education & Experience Requested
Bachelors Degree in engineering or technical field (strongly desired)
Less than 2 years experience in a similar position.
Experience in electronics circuitry or design (a plus)
Linux experience (preferred)
